England fans don’t play the bagpipes or wear skirts though (apart from some of the women).FirenzeAddick said:The nonsense media love in with the 'Tartan Army', much like other home nation sets of fans at International tournaments. Hear there was anglophobia towards us in Boston. Irish bars banning our fans. Drink laws changed back to how it normally is where as for the Scots it was relaxed when they were there.FirenzeAddick said:The nonsense media love in with the 'Tartan Army', much like other home nation sets of fans at International tournaments. Like the Wales fans who thought they were brilliant banter because they wore bucket hats.FirenzeAddick said:The nonsense media love in with the 'Tartan Army', much like other home nation sets of fans at International tournaments. I get it, our old reputation precedes us and we aren't well liked globally, we don't try to be.Its the 'stole the hearts of the locals' media narrative that grind my gears - they sat and had a beer in the sun and sung a few songs.... like every other nation at the WC.Same as in the Euros... ignoring the Scottish fan rampages around London and the Leicester Sq takeovers fueled by marching powder. For balance I also cringe at our fans with the tired old It's Coming Home, Sweet Caroline and Hey Jude5

Another enquiry lasting ages, and taking place years after the events come to and end, with ,once again, various people in high positions not doing their jobs(Nottingham hospital).Babies have died through negligence, and ignorance, and yet no one gets their collar felt.
The Post office scandal,Grenfell tower, when oh when are the people responsible for these events going to get banged up.,people have died,or had their lives ruined, those responsible walk free.
One good bit of news,a big game hunter got murdered, now he knows how all those beautiful innocent animals that he killed felt.9 -

The little xylophone type chimes just before a stadium announcement in the world cup games. It's a bit hi-de-hi.6

And just for balance there is a similar surface on the opposite side of London on the M25 around Potters Bar. Almost like ota for balance although what it actually is is cheap shite concrete road.O-Randy-Hunt said:

Selfish dickheads who smoke bang outside hospital doors. Fat fuckers who need pushing in a chair coming off their oxygen to do so on the hottest day of the year right next to open windows of emergency departments full of patients.
Without exception these people are scum and won't be missed.
Add to that pricks who cannot behave in public. Using phones or whatever stupid device they have with the volume on. That behaviour tells me everything I need to know about that person and it leads me to the conclusion they can be euthanised
Bluetooth or normal headphones cost pennies. Yet these animals are so pig ignorant of anyone other than themselves the thought of watching some moronic video on their phone or talking to one of their equally moronic friends ir family is just fine.19 -

The trend to call any soft toy a 'teddy'. Teddies are bears, not any other animal. I've just seen an ad for a 'Highland cow teddy'. A Highland cow is not a teddy, never has been and never will be.4

I’m not sure this is a “trend”.ME14addick said:The trend to call any soft toy a 'teddy'. Teddies are bears, not any other animal. I've just seen an ad for a 'Highland cow teddy'. A Highland cow is not a teddy, never has been and never will be.
When my sister was a kid, she had a huge collection of what we all referred to as “teddies”. Lots of them were bears, but there were quite a few that weren’t. She had names for all of them. She grew out of it when she was about 12 or so.
Shes 58 now.
I know the origin of the name has “teddies” being bears, but I think applying it to soft toys in general is pretty common and long established.1 -
The smoking outside hospitals is a weird one. I often work at a hospital and see it. Huge signs outside saying ‘Do not smoke here’ - people smoking right infront of them.

Separate one: people leaving empty food packaging etc on trains, tables, train stations when they’ve finished instead of using the bin less than a foot away or taking it with you.13

Don’t worry. That’ll all calm down in the next day or so 👍🏼FirenzeAddick said:The nonsense media love in with the 'Tartan Army', much like other home nation sets of fans at International tournaments. One of my neighbours works on Britons Got Talent and other reality TV. He is very loud and when he's on the phone you get most of the conversation. Some of the chats he has are quite amusing.fenlandaddick said:People who work from home, since covid, and who think sitting on a call discussing confidential financial matters with their windows wide open is something we all want to hear.0 -
Have just seen a clip of a person who I know is claiming PIP dancing and generally making a fool of himself, at an England Pool party in Spain.
He has a Motorability Car, Blue Badge, etc makes my blood boil.
No problem with PIP for genuine cases, but this is just shear fraud.12 -

The Queen Elizabeth at Woolwich is an example of that. Right by the entrance with the new born at the same level. I haven't been down there for a year or two but I would imagine there are few sad lumps sat in wheelchairs with a fag and tin on the go enjoying the good weather making it hell for everyone else. The Red Robin said:The smoking outside hospitals is a weird one. A 25 years ago we had the misfortune of having our niece in the Royal Marsden over in Sutton. There were people with IV lines having a puff outside there, the doctors probably thought they were wasting their time with them but maybe they were enjoying what little pleasures they had in the time they had left.
I've never understood why anyone takes up smoking in the first place, giving up is a lot harder. I really notice it when anyone smokes nowadays, it is something we can hopefully see the end of in a lifetime or so.2 -

I do a bit of litter picking (very therapeutic) and a Saturday night out round here seems to be a big bag of McD, couple of cans of drink, Nitrous Oxide and a shag - not sure in what order though.gringo said:
