Is there German who's name translates as sausage?
Sadly it's wirtz rather than wurst... Though apparently it does mean "innkeeper"
    sausage houser?

Looked this up and apparently it means crafty. Just as well he isn't related to Andreas Wank

Not sure why we had to go to VAR to see Sane took the Ecuador player out.

Germany burning all their substitute windows after 73 minutes is tempting fate.

An Ecuador win virtually ensures that Scotland are done.

If they don’t qualify now I don’t think they ever will.

Steve Clarke’s job must be in trouble if they don’t.

If Ecuador hold on to the victory then a Senegal win over Iraq tomorrow evening should do the trick.

Thinking aloud I thought that’s Scotland done.

Cape Verde play Saudi and one of them will have to go above Scotland…. Any result will do that

Draw or Cape Verde win they go above.

Saudi win and they go above.

    This is Scotland out

If you can get into the knockout stage of the world cup after only a scrappy 1-0 against Haiti then something is wrong with the tournament

If the Germans hadn’t got the last min winner last game, they’d be third in the group on head to head right now.

I can see Ecuador doing something stupid, they're so desperate for this. And that yellow for the lunge happens before I can post this.

BBC knockout stage predictor - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/world-cup/schedule#KnockoutStage - now has England playing Ecuador rather than Algeria in the last 32 off the back of Ecuador going in front. Not massively keen on that prospect.

are you allowing for the 4 teams currently above Scotland who can finish below them if they lose their next game so they end with worse than a -3 gd?

Still in it but need a very improbable set of results to go in their favour. Tonight and South Africa/South Korea result last night both gone against them.

Ecuador winning has not done Scotland any favours at all.

But in that group (group H) there is also Uruguay who only managed a draw against both Cape Verde and Saudi. It’s pretty likely that Uruguay will lose to Spain, which would mean the 3rd place team from group H would be guaranteed to be below Scotland, regardless of the Cape Verde v Saudi result.

Thought Ecuador had been really disappointing until that. Totally deserved, Neuer and Rudiger definitely past their sell by date too

Definitely one of the best 3rd placed teams, now they've hit their stride.

Down to 7% chance of qualifying for Scotland now. Oh dear, never mind.
