I have said commeth the hour a few times to do with him and not in the surprised in the least he did a 'Stokes' with his first ball after the crowd realised0 -
Different era's. Can't really compare. In Botham's day there was a rest day on the Sunday and players played a lot more county cricket and less one day stuff.Addick Addict said:

Back to the Test........
No idea what the NZ tactics are. Just using up overs, which also goes to show that the pitch isn't a minefield & if you get in on it then there are runs to be had.
However, trying to chase 350+ is going to be nigh on impossible. But it will be a great watch tomorrow.0 -

If we are going to use the stick of playing more cricket and going straight back to playing county cricket following a Test then, on that basis alone, I'm really not sure anyone should be declared anyone as the "best cricketer this country has produced".golfaddick said:

Botham wasn't protected by a central contract so had to put his body through it far more than Stokes has in his career. He scored 29,873 runs and took 1,784 wickets. Stokes, to date, has 19,891 runs and has taken 679 wickets. There is no comparison.1 -
288~9
Mitchell 100*

Well done Mitchell, a well deserved century. And now the fun starts for Duckett and Gay.0

NZ declared on 288~9
373 to win.0 -
What do we reckon? First ball duck?0
-
A bit of an anti-climax for tomorrow if Stokes gets out tonight. Maybe he wants it this way.1
-
This is coming across as a fuck you to the ECB from Stokes2
-
Batting order is:
Duckett
Stokes
Smith
Brook
Bethell
Archer
Atkinson
Tongue
Root
Gay
Bashir2 -
Elsewhere, Ireland are in with a shout of beating India again in the second T204
-
He just couldn’t be bothered to play tomorrow right?2
-
Sending in Bethell instead of Gay is a bit weird.3

To be fair, I had Bethell ahead of Gay.3 -
I'm not sure this has been good for the team.
The prospect of Stokes still to come tomorrow would surely have played on the Kiwi minds, whereas now there's now the danger of everything feeling a bit flat.5 -

I suspect he's a bit sour at what he sees as being thrown under the bus before the second Test, and being vindicated by the 'no action taken' by the regulator.MarcusH26 said:This is coming across as a fuck you to the ECB from Stokes
But he was still out past a curfew he agreed, so the moral high ground is a bit shaky.

Well done Bethel. Mitchell played all day and you decide to shoulder arms with the 3rd ball you face.0
-
A bizarre batting order, why is Brook at 4 ahead of Root (and Gay)? Are we trying to win the game tonight?0
-
Heard a whisper that they have a tee time booked for 9am tomorrow1
-
Brain dead cricket to mark the Stokes/McCullum/Key era7
-
Whoever was laughing on Comms is right , absolutely ridiculous from Brook4
