At least every goal messi scores rubs a bit more salt into ronaldo's wounds.5

Strange that ITV don't seem to have been given decent replays of the Egypt penalty shouts.
Whereas they have loads of the Egypt disallowed goal.2 -
Feels like different teams end up with different thresholds with VAR.10

Classic Argie double standards. FIFA would HATE for us to beat them. They wont let it happen.
Really don’t think the ref has applied VAR

The Red Robin said:FIFA are corrupt, there’s no doubt about that. And there has clearly been rigged games at World Cups in the past (2002, Italy v South Korea especially), but there’s nothing wrong with that Argentina winner.
Compare to Egypts disallowed goal and come back to that.
Minimal contact in each. One gets pulled back, the other doesnt.
One outcome for one, one outcome for the other.

I don't think it's rigged. We see bonkers decisions every week. It's just good old fashioned incompetence.9

Salah dives. For the Egypt disallowed second goal (they scored after that to make it 2-0 anyway), the Argentina player is pushed and stamped on. Like it or not, both the right decisions.DamoNorthStand said:Listen to Wrighty's analysis on the pen shout on Salah. He has it spot on. There was contact. Not aimed at you Damo as I can’t remember your view on this (if you shared it at all) but plenty were saying there wasn’t enough contact for the Mexico penalty but now are saying any contact in the box is a penaltyDamoNorthStand said:The Red Robin said:

The trouble is, rightly or wrongly, referees have said that they treat fouls differently depending on where they’re committed.DamoNorthStand said:Listen to Wrighty's analysis on the pen shout on Salah. Classic Argie double standards. FIFA would HATE for us to beat them. They wont let it happen. With the one on Salah, if they give the foul, they have to give a penalty. There’s no way that gets given because the contact isn’t enough for him to go down. Let’s be honest, if the move hadn’t ended in a goal, we wouldn’t be talking about the challenge half as much. And if they had given it, we’d all be saying it was soft.1 -

I want consistency first and foremost applied in a game between Team A and B. At least then it is being played on a level playing field.4 -
Anyone wanting to beat Argentina needs to beat them out of sight by 3 or 4, because if it's tight they are getting the decisions their way on any refereeing decisions.SELR_addicks said:Feels like different teams end up with different thresholds with VAR.0 -
You'll never get consistency, because incident A will never be exactly the same as incident BDamoNorthStand said:fenaddick said:

Sure, we all do but we’re also all humans who make errors. Get rid of VAR and the errors become more palatableDamoNorthStand said:fenaddick said:

Can anyone find a replay of MacAllister pulling the Egypt guy over? Because I've not seen a single one.

You can see it coming... we will go out to them lot.
Another filthy hand of god moment.... or Simeone cheeky kick. Something will happen and we will get fucked by it.1 -

I hope I'm wrong, but I'm expecting Switzerland vs Colombia to be a boring slog, going to extra time.
So when the Swiss win 5-4 after the game of the tournament, you can thank me.1
