T20 season started quite well but think the break really destroyed all the momentum we had built. Never looked the same side in the 2nd half.
Muyeyes' injury certainly didn't help.
We're going to have to go for Promotion and the 50~over Cup only this year.

It wasn't our bowling that cost us today, it was the decision making and execution of the senior batters. Muyeye ran himself out, DBD and Crawley both despatched long hops straight down the throat of boundary riders and Billings walked straight past one.
The only batters to average 25 plus in the Blast this season are Billings and Forrester (who only batted twice anyway) so similarly to last year, we need to give Dawkins, Denly and Ekansh more experience in the Metro. Then next year one or two of those might become the cake rather than the icing.
For that reason, I would like to see us put out the following side:

After a disappointing t20 campaign, it’s the right path to give the younger players more opportunities in the one day cup. If available I would also welcome Joey Evison being reintegrated into the side too - hopefully he can regain his form2

That Somerset chase is absolutely extraordinary. Were dead and buried at 80/8 and Craig Overtons taken 70 off the last 20.
Also I know Sussex are in the shit but Surrey's expensively assembled all-stars not making finals day is very funny.

There's nothing worse than getting knocked out in the semi-final of a WC when we, effectively, handed it on a plate to Argentina.
Then I thought of a scenario where our cricket team might be 100-0 and needing just 64 runs off 8 overs to reach Finals Day in the Vitality Blast. And losing because we bottled it despite the fact we had 9 internationals in the side.
Thank goodness that didn't happen. Two bottle jobs on the same night is a scenario too awful to contemplate. Only one thing could be worse. Having to give up our ground to the Mumbai Indians for a month.8 -

Think with how few players you've lost to that other competition and the amount of sides that will pretty much field 2XIs because they see it like the cricket equivalent of the Vertu Trophy you've got to be genuine contenders.3
