Fully expect their dirty little tactics to get worse in the next 45.
They’ll be targeting Anderson. Messi certainly will.

I said 2-1 either way. I absolutely believe both sides will score.

Nah.   Nothing in that half said that England are going to lose.    Ok, so maybe apart from the dark arts at play.

    But....Believe.

I just can't for the life of me reconcile a team with arguably the greatest player that has ever played playing being so niggly, dirty, and even outright cheating.

I don't think the ref has been too bad tbh, apart from missing a couple of potential yellows for them I thought he's been decent enough. Seems I'm in the minority
he started well and hasn’t been bad blowing for the free-kicks. But he should have started booking them earlier.
Agree he should have shown a couple of more yellows for them but he hasn't been giving in to all of messi's theatrics and moaning about not getting free kicks

Maradona or Messi? It's always been the same.

Then so am I  - if refs start throwing out cards, then they look to even it up. Glad he’s largely kept it in his pocket.

the usual suspects going on about corruption…

Wherever Gabriel Clarke is, I hope he’s having a terrible day.

i'm too young but Maradona WAS the cheat wasn't he? I'm talking about the players around Messi rather than Messi himself

They’ve been targeting Anderson since the first minute.

Worried Anderson will get a red. He's had a good game but reacted too many times

Exactly how I expected it would be. Argentina pressing hard and have had a couple of moments from that. the shot from distance over the bar from Fernandes the closest there’s been to a goal.

When they can get things under control England look the better side but haven’t created much - been in a couple of good areas but chosen the wrong option or hung into the ball too long.

I think it could come to England later in the game if Argentina can’t quite keep up the pace of their pressing. I think they are having to work a bit harder. However, I would say Argentina look a bit more likely to create something and I don’t fancy it if they manage to score first.

Argentina are playing as dirty as you’d expect and unfortunately for England the ref either hasn’t seen it or has decided he’s going to let a lot of it go. They have at least picked up a booking now.

My Brazilian mate reckons it’s been like a Copa America game.

Finding James delivery really frustrating in this World Cup, he is so much better than he has shown

And Simeone hasn’t even been booked

Do wish Pickford would release the ball a bit quicker. He's making me nervous with how jumpy he seems on the ball

That BBC analysis was pretty accurate. Their CBs coming way out and loads of gaps behind.

No chance. We get one and it will be sitting back for an agonising rest of the game.

The Argentinian game plan towards fouling whenever they can is so obvious and yet the ref. Doesn’t act on it.

F**king Argie dipshits trying to get Kane a Red Card for putting his hand over his mouth when he's talking to the Referee of all people, rather than doing it in a confrontational manner

Don't think we will ever see England / Argie half and half scarves.
I’ve got an Ark Royal - General Belgrano one

You can commit niggly fouls but doesn’t mean they are necessarily bookings. There isn’t, or shouldn’t be, a totting up system. Anderson’s was a booking. I can’t remember if any of Simeone’s were or not but just because stats say he made more fouls doesn’t mean he should have more bookings.

If he was wearing an England shirt, you'd love everything about his approach.

If this England team is going to win the whole thing, they need to beat everything/everyone in front of them, regardless.

Ref’s given them more free kicks than us. Though apart from not booking the little shite Simeone he’s not been too bad - so far.
