Apparently Arsenal and now Liverpool are after signing him - is there a possibility of a sell on via Brentford, or is that too much to hope for?

I suspect our sell on fee was activated when he went from Brentford to Villa. I know there are like regulations around young player development fees now, but I don't know what they are. Either way, I think it's doubtful we'd see much if anything.

I thought there's a thing about payments to every club that "developed" the player, and every subsequent move it decreases in amount.

Don't know how far it goes back though.

Actually scrap that just looked it up and it's for international transfers only.

If there was a sell on between Brentford and Villa, we'd get a cut of that though, as we had a sell on with Brentford.

So say he goes for 50m and Brentford had a 10% sell on, they get 5m, but then we had a 20% sell on, we'd get 20% of the 5m, so we'd get 1m

If he went for 50m and Brentford had a 10% sell on they wouldn’t get 5m they’d get 10% on the difference between 50m and whatever Villa paid for him from Brentford.

Depends on how the sell on was negotiated. You can negotiate a percentage of any profit or you can negotiate a full sell on, we'll never know what these deals are though. I do seem to remember reading that Roland was offering cut-price bargain deals for players if the buying team would pay all the cash straight away and I feel like Konsa fell into that period so we probably don't have a sell on at all.
  • Didn't think we had a sell on as RD just sold him for maximum upfront cash as he was selling the club.

!00% - there definitely was no sell-on. Duchatelet wanted a slightly bigger upfront fee - an act of egregious stupidity on his part.

Good time to stick him in your dream teams, gets around the 2 players per team cap.

Quite possibly ends up at right back for them, probably a better bet than Ben White in the role, I know Arteta likes having a more physical player back there than a modern day wingback

    How long is he out?

Feels like they’ve got about 6 centre backs, although Arteta plays half of them at full back.

And only really makes sense for Konsa of Saliba is out long-term otherwise he'll be sitting on the bench a lot behind Saliba and Gabriel.

    Terrible summer for them.

Rogers, Tielemans, Digne, Malen, Konsa gone. Martinez is also likely going and Watkins is apparently keen on a move to Saudi.

I don’t care that he’s just played in the World Cup . 60 mil for Konsa is absolute madness.

Aston Villa reach the Champions league and win the Europa league last season and they lose several of their best players.
Rodgers decides to go to Chelsea who didn't qualify for Europe this season after finishing 10th.

What is the point of Brentford, Brighton, Bournemouth Palace, Newcastle and Villa etc trying to compete when Man united, City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are always going to unsettled and attract players from these clubs.

    According to AI:

Under English FA and Premier League domestic transfer rules, a 5% solidarity contribution (£2.55 million) is deducted from the total £51 million fee to be distributed among the clubs that trained the player between ages 12 and 23
