I've always wondered but would someone in the recruitment team ask the opinions of other players, Burke and Bell in this instance, to gauge his character, how he trains, how he integrates with the squad etc. I know with Alli that Chapple is already aware of all this but in other cases does someone ask senior pros in the squad who have played with a player previously?

Four years is quite the show of faith. I don’t know much about him but that’s how two wingers for each side so we’re covered there, just have to hope they’re good enough. We do seem to be quite locked into the 4231 now so it’s going to be about those central midfield slots getting sorted to see how we get on

Never heard of him until a couple of days ago. Will of course give him some time on the pitch before judging him......but club have shown their colours once again as to their ambition.

    From my Pompey mate…….

Inconsistent.  Either very good about 20% of the time or awful about 80% of the time.
Maybe Nathan scummer Jones can get more consistency out of him.

Even signing Luton players that didn't play under Jones now!

Don't know too much about him, fingers crossed he's good.
Kaminski didn't play under Jones either

From the video two things stand out.
One is that he has scored with forceful shots from tight angles, the other is his goal celebrations are gymnastic.

Personally pleased with this, last year we only had one player with the ability to face up a defender and beat him and when TC was out of form we had no one to offer a threat.

Now we have TC grant, alli and apter who all offer that type of explosive creativity out wide.

The only thing he hasn’t let under him.

I don't know how I feel about this signing, I know he doesn't come with particularly rave reviews from either of the 2 clubs he played for at this level. Let's see how he does in the red of Charlton, hope you tear it up Alli and help keep us as a championship club

    Mellenic,
    Mellenic Alli
    Floats like a butterfly,
    Stings like a bee
Let's hope he's more Mohammed Alli than Comical Alli.

Looks like a bargain basement purchase.

Have they shown all the goals twice to make it seem as though he’s scored more than he actually has?

Never heard of him, other than the last couple of days on here. Let’s hope his % between good and bad flips to mostly good.

For those moaning about getting him and not Kamara, Pompey fans that rave about Kamara saw him in League 1, and Hull fans reckon that's his level after seeing him last season.

Alli feels like a Fevrier style signing, hopefully we've looked into the data and decided Alli is a cut above Fevs and can make more of an impact

Portsmouth mate says "He'll work hard for you. Sadly, that's his best quality"

Just watched that vid. Some nice action as there always is with these showreels, but what I was most impressed with was the gymnastics. As Charlton fans we've suffered a real dearth of cartwheels and backflips over the years. Here's hoping Millenic is just the man to put that right. 🤸🏾🤸‍♀️🤸🏻‍♂️💪🏿

A two footed 'winger' with pace who can score and assist; why are earth didn't Pompey buy him after his loan there 🤔

He will be erratic, which is a Shay Given as most wingers are and 4 years does seem excessive as we have been stung with both Charlie Kirk and the Gasman getting long contracts.

Well at least we know that wing backs are history at CAFC and we are going with players who can play out wide in Grant, Apter, TC and Alli who can all get a game over 100 minutes (two start, two bench)if Rob Apter can find his mojo which he lost after being expected to play wing back which even after his decent start, was never going to work.

Milli Alli was born in Dublin so he isn't a plastic paddy and I hope we are amazed by his skill and after a goal state: O'Alli what a goal !

I wish him well at cafc and can he be a crowd favourite as the apathy that has set in is a depressing read on CL.

He wants to score a goal or two for the fans!!
You are here for 4 years you better score more then that.

Welcome, Alli. So we now have three who prefer to play on the left and just Apter on the right. We haven’t yet replaced Bree / Clarke. Hoping that side is still being worked on.

    Amortisation of the fee.

Do you think Chelsea have so much faith in players they sign them for 8 years???

looking at this he's pretty versatile. And can play right wing if required.

Another 4 year deal which I can never understand especially when we have had fingers burnt in the past with these types of contracts and they turn out to be a pile of shit.

However it’s another one through the door and time will tell if he’s a decent signing or not

If you sign a player for ~£1.5m it would be foolish not to tie him down
