Looks like another option when we need to give TC a break and some rotation. Which is very welcome.
Four years is a bit long; paying a pacey winger until he's 30 comes with risks, but maybe that was what was needed to get it over the line.0 -

An ok signing, but hard to get excited by what feels like a squad signing, rather than a step change real injection of quality.
I agree that the 4 year contract seems generous, on someone who is a squad player/punt rather than someone with a much higher chance of being a Championship regular for 4 years. Especially as our track record when it comes to signing attacking players on long contracts hasn't been great.3 -

Out of interest would this change if we spent a Kelman/Apter type fee on a midfielder? As I was expecting an uptick in quality and investment and taking into account we have spent little relatively in this window - I would want to spend more than Apter money on our CMs as they are so important.fenaddick said:

likewise if Alli is Knibbs money, I’m not sure that is enough. Also Knibbs had 15 odd goals the season before which is still something I think we can hold on to. I am not seeing the goal contributions from Alli2 -

Welcome Alli - type of player we desperately needed and i'm not concerned that he's another Luton / Chapple or NJ connected player - in fact that's a bonus to me - surely if you've worked with somebody previously, you have a much better idea of what they can and can't do than if you've just scouted them / had them recommended. If we've ditched the wing back thing and Apter is gonna be in the picture as well, then we might just be down to needing a couple of quality midfielders and a centre forward.3
