Club have put out a video off all three goals from pitch on socials. Two things stood out to me, the casualness of his assist for Carey and how well liked he already seems by the group4

I get very wholesome dad vibes from him.fenaddick said:Club have put out a video off all three goals from pitch on socials. Two things stood out to me, the casualness of his assist for Carey and how well liked he already seems by the group

Best debut in recent years. Looked a class above.2

Truth is he is a class above. A fit Chalobah will be one of the best players in The Championship. I think we deserve a bit of luck with injuries so here’s hoping.MuttleyCAFC said:Best debut in recent years. Looked a class above.5 -
Fitness, availability, fitness, availability.
It boils down to that.6 -
As others have noted he looks like a great influence on the squad as well. His game speaks for itself but also he could be a massive influence on the development of Fullah & Mwamba
it was funny watching on TV yesterday I’m not sure if I imagined it or not but I’m sure there was an audible gasp from the crowd when he controlled a ball that came down from the clouds7 -
I think this was the moment the commentator said "even the Cheltenham fans are applauding Chalobah"AndyG said:As others have noted he looks like a great influence on the squad as well. His game speaks for itself but also he could be a massive influence on the development of Fullah & Mwamba

We definitely need two more CMs as to get as much out of him as possible we need to be planning on rotating him for half the games…. Get 20-25 games out of him this season and we will have done well.
i would like us to get a group of:
- Ouma
- Chalobah (50pc games target)
- Coventry
- New (Holsgrove or similar)
- Mwamba …. The young option to ease in and if Chalobahs fitness is better than expected maybe a loan from Jan.
Exits for Doc and JRC4 -

I'd always want five options there with three likely to start and benches of 9. Agree with that aim but I think it might take another window or 2 to get there, depending how the season plays out in terms of injuries and form.DamoNorthStand said:We definitely need two more CMs as to get as much out of him as possible we need to be planning on rotating him for half the games…. We won't sell two CMs. Not a chance.3

In that case Doc stays on for a bit and JRC exits….. can’t see the role for him. An odd signingScoham said:

To be fair, a fitness test in a gym is looking for mechanical problems. (Bad knees, hips, back etc.)DamoNorthStand said:

Not that the player is running in treacle, and blowing out his ar5e after 60 minutes...0 -
A class act.0

Hopefully Jones will use him sparingly - so maybe if we have 3 games in a week he misses the midweek one.
Overplaying Bell early in the season caused him to break down sooner than we would have wanted.last year.1 -
Overplaying Bell was because of a lack of depth in those positions. 3 players for 2 positions with Edwards first choice LWB, Bell first choice LCB and cover for LWB and Gilly cover for LCB.Fortune 82nd Minute said:Hopefully Jones will use him sparingly - so maybe if we have 3 games in a week he misses the midweek one.

As soon as Josh went down injured we had no option but to play Bell every game which basically guaranteed he went down and then we were left with all sorts of filling in situations and Gillys weaknesses exposed.5 -

He's off to a very good start0

I think he could give TC the on pitch encouragement he needs, was definitely there after he scored, could be a really good influence on him.4

Chalobah was the one who got TC to smile8

I get the feeling the more this guy plays the better those around him will.
That said we now need to build an oxygen filled cotton lined sarcophagus to keep him in between games..5 -
Absolutely love this!EugenesAxe said:

Sonny looks like he feels a bit left out though!5

He looked very good yesterday although you obviously have to take the level of the opposition into consideration.
As the saying goes though the best ability is availability, and he's only played 29 league games in the last two seasons. If we can get 30 games from him this season i think we'll be doing well. Fingers crossed, as he's clearly a very good player.1 -
Anybody know exactly what injuries Chalobah has had to limit his availability. Is it a recurring thing or just a whole raft of niggles, strains and pulls ?0

Did Doc play with a broken leg last season ?
Joking by the way2 -
He knows his way around the treatment table that’s for sure although noticeable nothing substantial since 2021 so maybe he’s ‘through the worst’ 🤞1
