It's a classic pic, also love the irony of the WH "thank you for your support" right behind our lot!

Thought it was quite nice he thought twice about doing the fist pumps thinking he wouldn’t get anything back, and then was chuffed when he did. Nice fella and well liked within the squad by the looks of it.

Was bloody worried he would put his shoulder out or something with the fist pumps

Absolutely love the way he’s looking at our fans at the end here. He’s played at a lot of clubs, including some big ones and he seems enchanted by the madness of that away end

Am I the only one who noticed Matty Godden leading the singing of 'Valley Floyd Road' at the end?

That’s a guy who wants to play as much football as possible. We hope he can too. Class act.

Suspect he thought those days were over as recently as this time last month.  Let’s hope we can keep him fit

I’m just glad we put this guy and TC nowhere near that pitch this evening.

Do you think with how ineffective Carey has been as a 10, could he do better as an 8 instead? We won't pull the plug on Docherty leaving, and we aren't going to sign another midfielder

Carey isn’t positionally disciplined enough to play in the double pivot

Agreed. But then again, we have Mwamba, Ouma and JRC around too. Should hopefully be okay

Our recruitment looks good in quality but terrible in fitness .  Shows the level we are shopping in.  Anyway … we are top of the league !

Jones has said he had a sore thigh so they took him off as a precaution

NJ said he wasn't injured on Saturday. He just had tightness.

What makes you say that? Idle speculation or have you heard something?

Something I’ve heard from a normally reliable source.

Out for the season after he just wandered off the pitch and NJ said it was precautionary and nothing serious? Blimey - what did he do, fall down the stairs walking back to the changing room?

NJ described it as a “little injury” when talking to Louis Mendez

Games that Chalobah has started: win, win, win

Games without him: draw, loss, draw, draw, loss

And unfortunately this will be a recurring theme. We all knew that he'd have got injured eventually

Jones played the injury down. Ideally we play one of Skipp or Coventry but we need a player like Chalobah in there.

Yes, a shame but being a free transfer signed on a one year contract, the situation was known.
  • Unfortunately as soon as the money man wanted out we had to resort to shopping
    in the bargain bin.

He’s free / cheap for a reason - and we will do well to get 10 games a season out of him.

The reason we got skipp was because we knew how long Chalobah was going to be out is my hunch, panic signing.

10 games with Chalobah gets us 30 points. Then we just need 20 nil-nils without him to stay up. Easy.
