    Made his Kenyan debut when 17 and is still only 22, so if he's any good and we take him on a permanent deal, there's resale value

    One of the nicest things about being back in the Championship is we can start brining in a few of these random signings from foreign climes. Each one has the potential to become a Radostin Kishishev cult hero or go down in infamy Omar Pouso/Cory Gibbs style. 

    There’s just something a bit more exciting about the possibility of the unknown.

    I did enjoy watching Ouma's interview... there is the understandable language barrier, but when Olly asked him how he ended up here, I thought he was going to reply along the lines of: "Well I got on a plane mate"

    When Victor Wanyama made his debut for Kenya 2 decades ago at 15 years old, it was a journey that took him from Beerschot to Celtic, Saints and Spurs in his pro career before going to Canada and then back to Scotland with Dunfermline.

    I wondered if this would open the door for Kenyans to come in numbers to the EFL, with some emulating  Wanyama and play in the Premier ?
    It didn't, and at the moment there are two Kenyans in the EFL: Collins Sichenje and Timothy Ouma.
    Tyler Onyango doesn't count as he was born in Luton and has an English mum and was in Everton's academy.

    Now if Big Phil Chapple believes in them with his vast experience of Scouting then that is a good recommendation but it is left field and I understand why CAFC have tried a different African Country to try to get value as on the surface it looks untapped.

    My posts before weren't to be pessimistic but realistic as we've had major let downs on numerous occasions after big build up by CL members.

    With Collins and Timothy being room mates for Kenya then it will help Ouma settle in London.

    It will be brilliant if both Sichenje and Ouma become regulars but I will reserve judgement for now.

    Ouma gives 100% in every training session and plays the same way as on match days. I believe his injury  history is 3 team mates injured after 1 training session. Timothy is made of granite and will be fine.

    Well his videos show he's decent technically and can certainly run with the ball and pick a pass. As we saw against Chelmsford that's easier to do against lesser opposition and soon he will be playing in the Championship. I think his style will quickly win us over but moving to the Championship and to another country/culture will likely mean we need to be a bit patient as he goes through his learning curve and settles in.

    I think he will be good but probably be better next season if we do sign him up. Foreign signings to the championship are often much better in their second season 

    Will be a big change for him playing in the championship, and I’d predict that he might not complete many games to begin with and definitely won’t be starting 3 games in a week. The jump to a 46 game season from what he’s used to will be a lot

    Maybe, but Sichenje seemed to take to it pretty quickly and having him here as someone who knows both Charlton and Ouma will hopefully help on that front.

    He’ll have to adapt to a different pace of football, style of play, new teammates and new country. I think it’s reasonable to assume that we’ll not see too much of him for a good few weeks.

    That seems way too high, I can only find seven members of the 1st team squad loaned out, inc. our Tim. Maybe a few more youngsters, there isn't a competitive league for reserves. Slavia and Sparta  have B teams in the lower league. They might be farming out a few kids to play further down the pyramid.

    How did he do that ?
    NJ said he's very intense in training then the next game Dykes had a black eye.

    If I remember it was something like "the other players have been feeling his presence..."
