Surely the ball is firmly at the feet of JRS here? He holds all the cards.

Simply says to Parish, accept the Charlton bid and let me move on or I will run my contract down and you will only get a development fee.

The general consensus in football is that the power sits with the players. If he is as keen to move here as we have been led to believe then he can force the transfer through
That scenario only works if he’s hellbent on joining us

Why wouldn't he be? From my memory he had a great time here and was consistent for us.

I can see that if and when JRS actually appears on the OS, i'll be so pissed off with hearing his bloody name, I couldn't give a toss about the fella...🤦‍♂️

He might want to join us but he might also like the idea of maybe a challenge abroad, a new start at a club with no prior pressure, more money etc. Can’t blame him if he wants to see what’s out there

    (Sighs)

So, a fake twitter journalist puts up some fake news, and CL goes from slightly bonkers, full of people who spend too much time playing 'Football Manager', to bat shit crazy...

I've said it once, and I'll say it again. We're well covered on the right. No-one knows JRS is going to be better than Grant. And Grant has far more experience in the Championship than JRS. And we have cover with Apter and Alli. Maybe NJ has decided to look somewhere else? Maybe we should temper our expectations a little?
Why are you so anti-JRS? Didn't even need to see the username to know it was you
I'm not anti JRS, at all. It's just everybody assumes he's going to be the dogs boll**** for us on zero evidence. And immediately discounting Grant, Alli, and Apter at the mearest hint of fake news that comes in. Hasn't Grant done enough already this season to, at least, be 'in possession of the shirt'?
I don't believe Grant will be dropped if we sign Rak Saki
I see it as Rak Saki on the left
    Campbell on his prefered Right
Grant playing more central behind the main striker
And that looks pretty good to me
That's literally the opposite of how they play, Campbell prefers the left, JRS plays off the right
    I know, I know
I got it the wrong way round guys.
    I blame the hot sunshine
My wife struggles with her left and right too.

She claims its a sign of intelligence....

I'm not ITK but rumours from the Palace end are that we have agreed a fee for JRS...... oh, I do hope so, would love to see him in our red shirt on Wednesday/Saturday
Palace held out for the 5 mill plus adds this deal could go as high as 6 mill … if everything falls into place …. one of them conditions is our promotion to the premiership
Pretty good clause for us then as we'd have to travel back in time to get promoted to the Premiership.

My predictions are 1) Doc gets released on a free to a Scottish club 2) Kaminsky ends up in the Netherlands or Belgium for an undisclosed fee at the end of the window (probably for 1 million or a little less) 3) Asiimwe is loaned out to league two side. 4) Kanu is sold on the last day of the window for much lower than the 1 million asking price 5) Apter is loaned back to Blackpool with us covering a majority of his wages. 6) Kelman is left out of the 25 man roster until the January window due to injury.  Burke is left out of the 25 man roster with no takers
Excellent set of predictions. If that all happens I would be impressed with management. I suspect NJ will try to hang on to Burke unless there are no other options. Burke is one of his cronies.

When I suggested releasing Docherty on a free in acknowledgement of his service, I was abused for wanting to run the club as a charity.

    It's not "excellent", it's stupid.

We aren't cutting 7 players from the squad and replacing them with no-one other than JRS, especially as we're currently sitting on 29 senior players.

There is no chance we'll release players on a free, and Kelman is in training and about a fortnight away from returning

If we end up with Rob Apter as our JRS replacement...he'd uh. He'd better find his mojo!!!
I am not an Apter fan, but I would feel sorry for him in that position. Every time he fails to control a ball or passes badly, we would have our moronic supporters on his back something awful for not being JRS.

And I'll be telling them.that at 22.59 on Sept 1st our offer is reduced to £2m.

See how they like them apples.
I think that is on the right lines but too confrontational. It would not leave us time to sign an alternative. How about deadline this Friday, 28th August, after which we would be free to pursue other options? If JRS really wants to come to Charlton, that gives him time to put his foot down. If we fail to sign someone else it leaves us free to go back to Palace and agree something which is in the best interest of all parties.

If Palace have in the interim sold JRS elsewhere, and he had agreed to the move, then it justifies their stance. I would not be too unhappy if we spent a similar sum signing one (or two) good players for the wide right and CM positions.

McCowatt was on the scoresheet again for Silkeborg in the Danish Superliga tonight. That's now 2 goals and 2 assists in their first 5 games. Just saying...

    100% Accurate.

Has struggled every single time that he’s been subbed on for us.

    From what i understand

Someone asked TC on Snapchat announce JRS WYS "meaning.. "What you saying"

And the reply was SNM which I took as face value to mean "saying nothing mate" again, could mean something completely different, its all speculation and I could be way wide of the mark.

I've seen 5m floating about as a fee

I would be extremely surprised if that is the actual number.

You think is would be less @FinlandMatt ?  5m is the number I've heard

From a source at Palace, I am told that both Charlton and Palace have agreed a deal for JRS and that JRS has also agreed terms with us.

Apparently, everything is ready to go, but Palace are holding off in the hope that a bigger bid comes in. If no bid comes in by the end of transfer deadline day, he will be joining us.
Surely that means a deals not been agreed then
There's a difference between verbal agreement and signing on the dottted line.
Them saying we agree but we’re going to wait for more money isn’t an agreement it’s just a deferral.

Not saying he will not be good in the future, but finding the clamour for him is a bit OTT at the moment. Don’t think he is as good as people are suggesting yet.
