Good evening all…

Following on from our first round win against Cheltenham, tonight we make the relatively short hop across to North London for this second round Carabao Cup encounter with Spurs at the aptly named Tottenham Hotspur Stadium…We really need to go into this tie in a positive mindset, Spurs aren't at their best at the moment, and we could pull off a result tonight in front of another sold out away end…

Team selection will be interesting tonight, and we could well see quite a few changes from the West Ham line up, I am sure they will all want to play, but Preston is the important fixture to focus on this weekend, Charlie Kelman and Josh Edwards are back in full training so that's a positive. Spurs will be without Matar Sarr, Maddison, Simons, Kudus, Kulusevski and Odobert, while new signing Sávio is eligible to feature after joining from Manchester City.

We've met  on 55 occasions, winning 16, Spurs winning 29 and the remaining 10 encounters ending in draws.

Adam Herczeg will oversee proceedings in north London tonight.

The Addicks will be sporting the Reebok purple third kit, what's wrong with red I ask…

TEAM NEWS…

Charlton: Brooks; Asiimwe, Sichenje, Koumetio, Mesík; Ouma, Docherty (c); Apter, Knibbs, Alli; Mbick

Subs: Okonkwo, McNamara, Jones, Coventry, Rankin-Costello, Mwamba, Carey, Tagoe, Leaburn

Pretty sure there are a couple of youth players on the clubs insta story of players arriving, could well just be the extra men though and lots of first teamers too

Putting out the B team. I respect it.

Still like the look of the side but slightly surprised to see Koumetio

That's pretty much 100% second string/need minutes.  If it increases the chance of a better result Saturday when I'm actually attending I'm all for it!

    Excepting Koumetio anyway

What I thought Jones would do - though was not expecting to see Asiimwe and was thinking maybe Coventry would have started as well.

Burke in for Asiimwe and Sichenje to right back would have been my call for that back line

Leaburn rested because we have no other strikers. Tagoe on the bench taking JRS' spot

People laughed at me the other day when I said it’d be 10 changes 😂 Jones never intended to to play our first team tonight. Should be fun though!

Would have played the first team and given it a good go. Nothing to lose

Spurs on the other hand have gone quite strong.

I want to find the line up for the Brighton cup game a few years back and compare our team that day to tonight's XI.

A shame Jones hasn't bothered with the game.

Ten changes against a pretty strong Spurs XI. Fun.

This early in the season with the amount of fans we’ve taken there, yep. Disappointing.

Burke must be injured or offer on him and he can't be risked being such an injury risk

Don't mind a few changes. Not comfortable with so many, especially Asiimwe at RB, someone barely L1 standard. Rankin-Costello can play there, and is hardly tired.
