Like the poster with 9 directed posts towards other posters in this thread and zero about the actual game?3 -
Except injuries to key players.🤨BigRedEvil said:Would have played the first team and given it a good go. Nothing to lose2 -
Chris_from_Sidcup said:Asiimwe is a kid who isn't even that good at right back, who is being forced to now play at left back. Definitely not a player to dig out here.
I would have thought the better move was keep him at right back and shuffle McNamara to left back0 -
Covered_End_Lad said:The Ouma criticism is weird, played well other than one misjudged headerFirst game in England, and against some of the toughest opposition possible.Strange how we've got him being written off already - Shouldnt be strange actually, should sadly be used to itWill wait a few games against the likes of Preston / Stoke etc. before making any sort of judgement9

Southbank said:And I am also worried now about our midfield options. Ouma does not look ready
you can’t judge him
especially on this game … think the players have worked extremely hard the two injures really affected us

People do not take into consideration this is a prem squad, their starting 11 not far off that which will. E the regular 11.0

Billy was holding his hip not his hammy i think. Hopefully just a bruise from hitting the concrete covered in plastic pitch here.
Alli is not very good at attacking but is woeful at defending.Brooks is still a third choice keeper.
Ivan, Assimwe, Mbick looked ok.If Carey is a problem, Knibbs does not seem to be the answer.2 -
That was not misjudged - he absolutely bottled it and I hope NJ gives him a rocket for it.Covered_End_Lad said:The Ouma criticism is weird, played well other than one misjudged header1 -
From where we’re sitting the shot took a deflection and Brooks simply didn’t have time to adjust.follett said:Poor keeping for the first and an Ouma mistake for the second, likely neither play Saturday. Thought Mesik looked really good0 -

Ouma bottled out to give away the 2nd….3

I agree with the selection, it’s too early in the season. If we get a Premiership team in the FA Cup come January and we’re comfortable in the league then, I’m sure, Jones picks our strongest eleven.3

Knibbs is wank. Wont be told any different3

The commentator is on drugs....1

Spurs looked devoid of confidence, and it wasn't until their goal that they looked anything like threatening. That seemed to come from assimwe not having long enough studs on, though I think he looked alright imo. 2-0 flatters them. It just frustrating that it will be hard to get back into it.

and thats whats so galling for some of us on here who would like to see their team compete properlyTalal said:As someone who doesn't watch the premier league I'm shocked at how poor Spurs are. Reckon our first 11 gives them a genuine test.0 -
I might be barking up the wrong tree here but I wonder if the slide in slide out nature of Spurs pitch where it converts for NFL causes a few more problems than some others.3
-
Assimwe looks good to be honest.Every time I’ve seen Brooks he’s looked poor - whether it’s warmups or u23s. He wasn’t even rated at Gateshead I believe and at24 isn’t exactly a kid. I thought Tommy Reid looked better personally.I like Tagoe but this might just ruin his confidence so let him savour the atmosphere but don’t chuck loads of pressure on him. Mamba for Ouma might be a sensible option though before Ouma gets an injury through not being fit
got to leave a substitution for Mbick who won’t last - so Leaburn will get some minutes.0 -
The front three are doing loads of work in our own half that’s the problem .. and when the ball goes up it’s not being held allowing Knibbs and Apter to get up the field ..BigDiddy said:
He’s running a lot, but zero impactGrovenuts said:Didn't hear Knibbs mentioned until about 40 mins! Forgot he was playing! bin him off!0 -
The injuries were a massive blow, but they were just bad luck. Sichenje could have twisted his knee in training, while the Koumetio muscle injury after 15 was just unfortunate. He'll have exerted himself more at Sparrows Lane yesterday.
Brookes poor for the Moore goal, an odd selection. I understand playing Ouma, but he won't be starting on Saturday the way he bottled that header.1 -

I think Asiimwe has put in a decent shift.6

One thing I will say about this stadium:
They've been very considerate of the local residents by making sure the home stands are sound-proofed. I've barely heard a peep from them apart from a bit of noise when they scored.10 -
Sticking with my Pre-Match comment, hopefully this game helps gets the likes of Apter and others out the door, so we can use their squad places for improvements elsewhere - Yes we can simply just de-registered them, but dont really want them stinking up Sparrows Lane1

Your total lack of self awareness is incredible.2 -

They worked hard with very little reward or in Apter case protection … the ball not being held up so very difficult to build an attackThe Red Robin said:This is not based on tonight - but wouldn’t be too sad if we shifted Knibbs and Apter out if we could do a bit more wheeling and dealing before Tuesday.0 -
Personally I am absolutely gob smacked at some of the comments on here tonight. It sounds like people are actually expecting us to win this and win it comfortably with our first team playing!Spurs have just got a player on loan who they want to buy for £60,000,000 for gawd sake. We never had a hope in hell of winning so it was obvious we’d play our youngsters. If we had no hope with our first team, what hope with the kids? It’s league first, last and everything in between!6

Thought i had SpursTV on fawanews but it's actually a Sky feed isn't it?
Credit to Assimwe, though may need a change of studs.
Ouma- didn't know he was playing until first half injury time.
Alli, had a couple of good moments moving forward.
Apter, very strange one. If there isn't an attitude problem there, it's still hard to say there definitely isn't based on that showing. I thought the unnecessary foul for which he gave the card was a low point. Shame as he's seem a lot of the ball.
Knibbs, lots of running, little else so far.
But it's hard watching so many players for the first time and it must be hard for them, playing together for the first time.0 -
Also this commentator needs a talking to. I understand and begrudgingly accept that there will be a spurs lens, but getting so much wrong about the other team comes across as disdain8
