I'll say one thing though, look at the difference between Conor Coventry playing with Docherty Vs Conor Coventry playing with anyone else, I'm not going to write off Ouma just yet
  • The same people moaning are the same people who would have cheered when we got drawn against a big team like Spurs. I honestly don't know what people expect against a side that have spent 100x what we have.
I agree - picking a B team for this was an obvious choice. We’ve got our payday from this cup, we weren’t going to win it, and we’re playing sat/wed for the next two weeks.  Like last year, I want us to keep our league momentum going, and not risk key players in this game.

Have no issue with a rested side to be honest. If we beat Preston on Saturday then it's a good decision.
Totally agree…….though I’d be pretty pissed of if I’d have slapped all the way over there to watch the game.

Not to play 4D chess but could Spurs’ pitch played a role in Jones’ decision making to pick a weakened team?
Think he just thinks Spurs are shit tbh, like the rest of us

There are some fucking weird people on this forum

Your total lack of self awareness is incredible.

Ouma bottled out to give away the 2nd….
Having seen it again at HT, he clearly just massively misjudges the ball. Not bottled at all.

Also this commentator needs a talking to. I understand and begrudgingly accept that there will be a spurs lens, but getting so much wrong about the other team comes across as disdain
Just comes across as completely unprepared and no idea about any of our players. At least Iwelumo does EFL coverage every weekend and seems to have a decent idea.

Hopefully Sichenje isn’t an ACL. Looked a heavy knock on his knee in the initial challenge. Billy K more worrying if he’s out for too long.

We've shuffled the back four it looks like Asiimwe RB, Mesik LB and McNamara in the middle with Jones

Totally agree. You’d think Spurs were playing like world beaters.

In fact, it might be a 3-5-2 with Asiimwe and Apter wing backs. Alli up with Mbick.

Such a disappointing line up. I feel angry about it.

The build up, anticipation, sold out away end. What an opportunity to showcase how good we can be.

Jones has completely got this wrong.
Completely think the opposite in every regard. We’ve made such a good start to the season with players who are only just fit. Why on earth risk them in a pretty meaningless game when we’ve got a real chance to showcase our strengths in less than 72 hours. Makes total sense.
I respect that view, but how many times are we going to draw a big team in a world class stadium?  Opportunity lost. We are not going up in the league and not going down.
If this was a 3rd round FA cup game in January I would agree, but second round league cup when our team is playing in less than 72 hours after the IMMENSE effort they put in against West Ham. It’s just too important not to get injuries. Which we still have managed to for our only 1st teamer player risked.

I’m willing to believe Jones believes we get in the playoffs.

Poor keeping for the first and an Ouma mistake for the second, likely neither play Saturday. Thought Mesik looked really good
From where we’re sitting the shot took a deflection and Brooks simply didn’t have time to adjust.
Suggest you turn the seat around so you are facing the pitch.

Coventry was shit playing alongside Docherty, who Ouma is coincidentally playing alongside. Coventry has since played with Chalobah and has been much better

Almost don’t care now, keep the score down and no more injuries please.

    nice stadium but crap atmosphere

Mbick barely had a kick, Apter is a total waste of a shirt
