    People saying get a young centre half on loan. Big Billy has been starting and looked good, an inexperienced centre half isn’t going to cut it. And we need two now, one won’t suffice. If we have to give up on JRS to get two centre halves so be it. It’s disappointing but what can we do?

    Being positive maybe Nathan means other things we were going to do and not JRS if that’s done but I seriously doubt it.

    Chris Perry did well enough.  I’d play Mesik centre back and Bell left back anyway

    Let’s hope in the cold light of day tomorrow things calm down and they can work something out. Maybe it’s Jones calling out to the owners to give him one more signing. Even if it’s just a loan.

    Look, I'll keep my fingers crossed that "Everything we were going to go for" excludes JRS because we're already done, or at the stage of nearly complete, rather than "going" for it with JRS, but the realist in me thinks that sounds a lot like all pending deals are cancelled.

    NJ's an emotional man though and will be gutted by what happened with Billy and Collins. Perhaps when everything calms down and Nj and the board and owners get a chance to speak in a less charged environment something can or will be done to find a bit more money to bring in a centre back and still see the JRS deal through.

    If the two centre backs are out for months they don't need to be taking up a squad space.

    It’s not just about squad space it’s about budget. We still have to pay them both whilst they are out.

    Seems very quick for the game to finish and within an hour a deal has been cancelled and the news been shared online. Would we or Palace have even made a decision that quickly?

    Sadly will probably be the case going on what NJ has said.

    Not unlike Jones to talk in a knee jerk emotive way after a match , so let’s hope he doesn’t really mean it’s all off .  Surely we aren’t going to buy a centre back unless Koumetio is out for 4-5 months .

    Unless it was awaiting FA/EFL seal of approval and Palace have pulled it that late?

    Also not the best negotiating tactic if everyone knows how desperate we are for a centre half.

    Jones acting like Defenders win games, is giving up on JRS who we're fairly certain would improve the team a lot, and getting two centre halves at a late stage, who may well be an unknown quantity a good strategy?
