It’s all gone quiet on Bindon hasn’t it ?
No it’s done. Just wasn’t done in time for the squad today.
You also mentioned Jebbison, any news on him, thanks.

I've not read through all the new posts today so apologies if this has already been discussed, but I wonder if jones is now able to go to the board & say

I do wonder if he looks at the 10 position as a place to upgrade. Would be an obvious one to address I think if we’re trying to level up.

Sounds like he wants 3 (2 will be Bindon and the RW) so I wonder if he's gone to the board after Spurs and asked for a bit more?

That would be a really interesting one. However in terms of potential outlay needed I wonder if that's one we have a look at in Jan? I still wouldn't be overly surprised if Knibbs went on loan in this window though.

Can we get someone in who can do a decent long throw?

Not sure when Edwards will be back, Clarke is obviously at Preston now and it seems as though Carey might not be an automatic starter this season.

Ivan Mesik has discovered the secret of throw ins already tbf - 'throw it to TC or Miles'

Have to say, with Clarke at £2.5m or whatever it is - I really didn’t miss him playing for us when I saw him today. Works hard and has grit but not much else.

Has it ever been done that a new player has been announced via a Saturday team sheet. I’d love to have a new player just drop into a starting 11 with no prior knowledge.

There’s a real chance here to try and kick on.

We’re currently top, with the only 100% record in the league and there won’t be many ends of windows where that’s the case. What’s more…Bindon is a highly rated CB coming in and we know we have circa £4/5m available for a right sided player.

If we can shift the players we want to and bring in Bindon, a serious right sided player and a forward then that will have been a cracking window. Easier said than done!

Can't remember who but a team announced 2/3 players on their teamsheet early this season. It was someone like Barrow

That has been the main gap from the getgo. Somebody who can properly pivot from defence to attack. Mwamba has got that but its asking too much of an 18 year old to build the midfield around him. Carey and Knibbs are not effective enough at Champ level to get a grip on a game. Costello too slow. Ouma looked very raw
Big gap there. At present a combination of Mwamba and Grant look the best of the bunch
  • Sorry. Just catching up. So did JRS deal fall
apart due to a medical or was it his agent asking for more money ?

    Sorry ?

Consensus seems to be a bit of both

According to Louis Mendez on Charlton Live on thurs evening it was to do with his old agent wanting to muscle in on the deal. Pages back I equated it to an Estate Agent wanting their fee after you ditched them for a new EA who then sells your house.

But in true football style no one knows. Well they do, but they don't want to tell the most important people......the fans. Just like when we were under a transfer embargo back at the start of 2020. Football people knew but went along with our "chairman" and his super duper phone.

Football is so opaque you could take a shower and no-one would see your cock & balls.
Thank you for sensibly answering my question, I appreciate it. Shame @Bedsaddick couldn’t do the same.

We’ve all had to read tens of dozens of pages about the transfer saga . I don’t see why you shouldn’t have to either . 😂

TC had him on toast 2nd half Preston had faw fewer opportunities to double up on TC. We are far more dangerous with 2 wingers and Grant as a 10.

Agreed, two dangerous wingers and all of a sudden both wings have players tracking back and teams have no outlet so we can pin them.

Anything about Bindon? Was he at the game? Thought he would be if he's "100% signed"?
Sorry if this has already been mentioned, and I missed it, but Bindon made his professional debut in a 4-0 win over Millwall.

Get Bindon and Otto in the door.
Been 30 years since Ricky played for us, legs have probably gone now.
The day he tore it up for us whilst a Dutch umpa band played in the stands, one of the great and odd memories this club has given me.
They said on Radio London we are on target for 132 points this season.
    We said 138

I hope we sign Bindon. I liked the look of him at Reading and also, given his mum was women's football coach at UCLA, he would probably be the first Addick to actually know where in LA I grew up (Culver City). Big boon for me. And that's what matters (that and we need another CB with Collins probably out for a long time and Burke unreliable).
