I am assuming we bring a cb and rw. I am also assuming Kanu and Apter will be either loaned or sold. So it looks like asiimwe, Burke and Doc are fighting for the last spot. Who would you choose. Our defense looks thin given injury history so an argument can be made for Burke but it might be good to have a more defense minded mid in certain occasional situations. Or does Jones bring in a surprise third signing at CF or a box yo box mid?0

You are hinting at George Dobson, aren't you?Bostonaddick said:Or does Jones bring in a surprise third signing ... a box to box mid?

Sorry Louis must be going mutton! either that or I was semi-comatose after the interminable piece on Millwall which went on (and on!) for about half an hour (how long would they have given them if they had won?). Until finally they got around to Charlton and grudgingly allowed you about four minutes, just when I was getting out the car.LouisMend said:

They said on Radio London we are on target for 132 points this season.cfgs said:
The day he tore it up for us whilst a Dutch umpa band played in the stands, one of the great and odd memories this club has given me.MartinCAFC said:
Been 30 years since Ricky played for us, legs have probably gone now.Callumcafc said:Get Bindon and Otto in the door.

I've been called an unreliable burke too.SDAddick said:I hope we sign Bindon. I liked the look of him at Reading and also, given his mum was women's football coach at UCLA, he would probably be the first Addick to actually know where in LA I grew up (Culver City). Big boon for me. And that's what matters (that and we need another CB with Collins probably out for a long time and Burke unreliable).13 -

Hope not.. can do without someone flying in giving away needless fouls because been caught out of position. And then slows the ball down when he receives it.wolfgang said:

Dobson's off to Leicester anyway in a player+ cash deal for Harry Souttar so I think we can rule that one out.2

Bizarre. Surely he’s better than League One.MarcusH26 said:Dobson's off to Leicester anyway in a player+ cash deal for Harry Souttar so I think we can rule that one out.14 -
Was also linked with Wednesday earlier in the window as well. The Red Robin said:

Maybe it’s more about money for him.FishCostaFortune said:

Coventry: 1.7
Dobson: 1.215 -
All three linked with us, played for us or both at some point.

I’m amazed Elliot Lee is still at Wrexham.Scoham said:All three linked with us, played for us or both at some point.

They’ve got a similar problem to us albeit more extreme. They paid over the odds for players to play for them in leagues one and two, due to their rapid rise these players are just not good enough for the championship.Bedsaddick said:

Now these players can’t be shifted because the wages they’re own can’t hope to be matched elsewhere.19 -
That move for Keillor-Dunn had to be the biggest waste of time for him, has played just seven times for themScoham said:All three linked with us, played for us or both at some point.

I don't care how good a player is, if he has a man bun, its a no from me.30
-
Surely we must be interested in getting Dobson back?14
-
I’d have Dobson back if we can offload Docherty. Coventry, him, Chalobah and Mwamba give us decent options3
-
No from me for Dobson
Mwamba and Cov works in the middle of the park. I think Ouma comes good when he’s up to speed, and will have Chalobah in and out the team through the season.
Can still offload Doc and not need cover.14 -

I just can’t help but think we are looking at Dobson through Charlton tinted spectacles. As Wrexham have evolved he has been left behind.Maybe as a squad player but with the wages he is on can you justify that outlay?23
-
Dobson is decent at what he does but he’s really not the type of midfielder we need to bring in. We need the playmaker who orchestrates the link between defence and attack. A player that makes us tick. Good on the ball and can pick a pass. That’s a tall order to find and afford but it’s certainly not Dobson.17
-
He played 40 games for them last season and they finished 7th. Not sure that's being left behind.DamoNorthStand said:I just can’t help but think we are looking at Dobson through Charlton tinted spectacles. As Wrexham have evolved he has been left behind.

Alan Mwamba looks like he fits that bill quite wellShootersHillGuru said:Dobson is decent at what he does but he’s really not the type of midfielder we need to bring in. He’s 18 and not the answer at this point. Not week in week out anywayWeegie Addick said:

Don’t get it twisted, Dobson is a better player now than the one that left us. That being said I wouldn’t want them to block the pathway for Mwamba with a player like Dobson.9
-
I think he is - he played in a Wrexham side that finished just outside the playoffs last year. But what he's good at isn't what we need (or need more of) any more.Redrobo said:

Certainly wouldn’t swap him for Danny MacDanny Addick said:Have to say, with Clarke at £2.5m or whatever it is - I really didn’t miss him playing for us when I saw him atoday. Works hard and has grit but not much else.15 -
He’s 19 and turns 20 next month, though I agree we don’t want to overplay him.ShootersHillGuru said:
