No way is he important enough to use a squad space on..... Laq doesnt so thats his advantageSolidgone said:I’m an Assimwe fan and would like to see him stay put.10 -
Yes, he would be, but:cafc2018 said:would defo take Gilbert on a free can take set pieces and would be a lot more creative then Carey or knibbs in the ten.
1) Too much to get done on last day. We can only now clinch deals already pencilled in
2) With limited slots, I would hope for someone better than Gilbert
3) If we had Gilbert, there would be no room for Rankin-Costello.2 -
And when/if our CB's are back fit he's able to play U21 football or go back out to non leagueDamoNorthStand said:

I don't want him here but Gilbert doesn't need to be done today as he's a free agentwolfgang said:

It makes sense but I’d question if he’s Championship standard.fenaddick said:

Unless we’re signing a 19yr old wonderkid and doesn’t count towards squad registration opposed to cleary can’t see a single L1 winger that would improve us3
-
Neither is Asiimwe though, Laq is effectively just a body to use in an emergency. He did ok in his few minutes against Birmingham last season too, playing out of position. Not saying that means he's up to standard but that he didn't seem overawedLargeAddick said:

Nothing from himking addick said:Has Rich Cawley said much at all today? Im not on X so not sure but not had any substack bits.2 -
They probably think that lots of them performed better than Apter did there last season.Crispywood said:Unless we’re signing a 19yr old wonderkid and doesn’t count towards squad registration opposed to cleary can’t see a single L1 winger that would improve us0 -

We don't play with a ten.The Red Robin said:
We don’t need a traditional ten in this system.DubaiCAFC said:
They are not a natural number 10. They are players that playing as 10!RonnieMoore said:
Only Knibbs Grant and Carey …. Knibbs was excellent in pre season and really linked up well with Grant very unlucky not to start the seasonDubaiCAFC said:For me - I would like to see a RW and someone who can play in this 10 role.. I don't think we have anyone that is really suited to that role.
NJ will never play with a ten.
We do not need a ten
Suspend any poster who mentions the 10 position from now on.1 -
Wimbledon winger junior Nkeng.0
-

3 -
That’s the one the Itk poster had to google I assume.12
-
19 so doesn't take up a squad space6

Whelmed.4
-
Might be a possibility that this is a bonus and we might even loan him back for the season? Rather than this being our winger signing
I think it’s a great signing but we still need a right winger for this season6 -
That's a bit of a wtf signing, don't think he's particularly highly rated at Wimbledon and that's at a club where their academy doesn't tend to produce much for first team level0 -

Nkeng has had loads of club after him, including Nottingham Forrest and QPR. Very excited about this one, could be a great player for the future.13
-
Sounds like he can play as a Winger or a Wing-Back... Could be a better alt. option over on the right instead of Apter as backup1
-
Was rumoured to be going QPR and forest earlier in the window for around 850k-1M definitely one for the future although he’s mainly played as a fullback/Wingbsck opposed to a winger1

Seems to know Fullah, TC, Mbick and Ewens-Findlay going from Instagram2
-
Maybe he's better than I thought! Others certainly seem more hot on this transfer than me0
-
Nottingham Forest and Serie A side Lecce contacted Wimbledon about Nkeng this summer, but Charlton are confident of landing the skilful winger in what will be a coup for the Addicks. #cafc #nffc #afcw #afcwimbledon #DeadlineDay

He’s definitely highly rated there. He’s in a bit of a tricky spot because they play 3-5-2 and he’s a winger. I’ve seen him play a few times and he’s definitely a player with a lot of potential, very good 1v1 dribblerYannTheMann said:

It’s great work by the club really. If TC kicks on and is sold in a couple of years then it will be Nkeng’s time to step up4 -
Got to be a bonus for the future signing as opposed to someone to make an immediate impact? Handy being 19 so he doesn't take up a squad space.5
