Sounds like he's a decent prospect but not sure he's what we need for this season. Hopefully we're also after a Championship ready RW who can do a job this season, even if it's on loan.

Got to be a bonus for the future signing as opposed to someone to make an immediate impact? Handy being 19 so he doesn't take up a squad space.
Might suggest we're struggling to shift Apter

Maybe this lad from Wimbledon is instead of the Finnish youngster we were linked with?

Maybe he's better than I thought! Others certainly seem more hot on this transfer than me
My first thought was pretty much the same as yours.
Can't say I've ever heard of him tbh.
As usual if we do sign him i hope he proves to be a good addition.

Otto is a CDM so wouldn't make a difference.

Could be a great signing for the future but surely won’t be doing much down the right for us this season. Wonder if we’re still in for another right winger.

  • That's a bit of a wtf signing, don't think he's particularly highly rated at Wimbledon and that's at a club where their academy doesn't tend to produce much for first team level

Nkeng has had loads of club after him, including Nottingham Forrest and QPR. Very excited about this one, could be a great player for the future.
Come on guys make your mind up!

Burnley signing a winger from Leeds and Millwall just brought a winger in from France ..
    wrong thread
    No it isn't.
There is a separate thread for Championship transfer news……been up and running for a couple of weeks or so.
  • Maybe we loan them Apter as part of the deal?

I watch AFC Wimbledon when Charlton aren't playing and I can tell you that a lot of fans rate him.

Surely we will be getting a starting RW on top of this... To go from JRS to a 19 year old kid at Wimbledon would be v disappointing

Wouldn't surprise me actually. Just don't really want to be left light there
  • It's obvious guys.

Last season our big problem was our main attacking threat, TC, getting doubled up on on the left wing.

So now our strategy is to play 2/3 on the left wing at any given point in time to counter that.

Simple problem, simple solution, loving the lateral thinking from management this season!

We’ve 100% been struggling to shift Apter.

Josh Laq is also comfortable at right back so makes sense to loan out Assiimwe and have Josh not taking up a squad space

I can understand the maths with 25+ U21 in squad but Dorking Wanderers from the National League South to potentially the bench in the Championship and getting on does seem a mighty leap.

I guess we are running out of options.
Hopefully Collins and Burke are deregistered for now.

Was rumoured to be going QPR and forest earlier in the window for around 850k-1M definitely one for the future although he’s mainly played as a fullback/Wingbsck opposed to a winger
So glad we kept our powder dry then.

Maybe one for the future, and bringing the transfer forward. Can't see this being a starter week in week out

Anyone else think we might be back in for that Japanese chap we were linked with a while back?

I’d still expect a right winger to join that’s first team ready. Either that or Apter stays

Has Rich Cawley said much at all today? Im not on X so not sure but not had any substack bits.
Would appear so……..I find this rather strange.🧐

It’s the relevance to JRS to be fair

I'd ask my AFC supporting mate about Nkeng if I had one.

Tbh bar JRS I’d prefer a young exciting talent than someone on the way down

I know, but it relates to the potential for where JRS goes, so completely related to this conversation. I just wish Ronnie made it clear.
