Maybe we loan them Apter as part of the deal?
Would be ideal, if there's one thing Jackson has experience of it's relentlessly playing Charlton wingers as wingbacks
  • Still can’t get any brewing link to Junior Nkeng or Wimbledon, must be the midfielder then.

They don’t play with wingers so I think that’s very unlikely

Nkeng feels like a signing for the u21s or someone to loan out? I hope we still want a first choice RW.

    Wimbledon winger ji unior Nkeng.
Great signing for the future. Maybe not one to impact now, also whenever I’ve seen him he’s played on the left.

Wouldn’t count to squad rules which is a bonus

I watched GBHW v Wigan on Sky recently and Nkeng was definitely on the right.

We would have four players with surnames beginning with "o".  Ouma, Okonkwo, Olaofe and Ooooooooooooo.

I think it depends how much they want for him. If the previous reports are to believed then he is a reasonably sought after young player with seemingly high potential and therefore possible sell on.
Maybe get him now and bed him in for the next season

Surely the complete lack of noise says they are busy working on stuff, they have been very upfront in saying they are still doing business to end up doing nothing.

Charlie Webster at Burton is a proper player. Wouldn't mind him

It increasingly feels like the first choice RW is going to be a rotating array of Grant, Campbell and Alli. Either all three start and shift around or Carey/Knibbs/whoever is left when the window closes starts in the middle and the others rotate around him. Nkeng could be there as a backup option behind them. It's a bit risky but signing up a 19 year old is useful if we're looking like we can't shift enough players by the end of the window

Unless we’re signing a 19yr old wonderkid and doesn’t count towards squad registration opposed to cleary can’t see a single L1 winger thatim would improve us
They probably think that lots of them performed better than Apter did there last season.

Rob Apter was always going to struggle at RWB and I said he would even after his excellence debut and a couple of other games when Ramsay had his back.

Ironically Apter who has a lightweight frame did in his last two apps for Charlton put over a good cross for an own goal before his poor loan to Bolton and against Spurs he put another good cross right on to Asiimwe's head but by then no one noticed 🤷🏻‍♂️ (I did 👁️👁️)

Just like Gilbert who was/is a good passer of the ball, you have to be physically strong now and both Rob and Gilbert struggle in that department.

Brewing link could lead nowhere. There's no chance we're only working on 2 deals, we'll have a few on the go in case things change

Looking through league 1 wingers and there doesn’t seem to be many standout names. Josh Bowler would fit the left footed right sider and has done well in the championship before. Would also maybe be quite an easy one to send apter back to Blackpool as part of the deal
Yeah I'm struggling to find anyone that I'd find overly exciting or standout as a signing.
Yep agreed if it isn’t Cleary, unless I’m missing someone obvious but from a quick look at league 1 wingers there isn’t much there. Wouldn’t mind Josh Bowler or Jack Diamond but tbh we might as well stick with Apter if we aren’t looking at a serious upgrade, considering we paid millions for him
Diamond was the other name that I thought about but his record isn't anything that suggests he'd be a lot more effective than Apter.
Diamond's initial sparkle has faded. Perhaps he only plays well when cut.

Yeah former Chelsea academy player. Was very surprised to see he was still there. Always gets a decent review on the NTT20 podcast.

Altho we do need squad depth. The new RW, KAG and TC won't play 90 mins, 2 games a week

    Junior Nkeng - welcome to SE7! ✅

Olivier Skipp also could be joining
Fits with the ITTV poster who posted the skip emoji and a child (Junior) emoji

... you have probably ...£10m of talent on the left and £2m on the right.
Even more unbalanced than you say. You have underestimated the value on the left and overestimated on the right.

Interested business. Suspect Skipp will have a bit of quality about him and needs somewhere to restart his career. Wondering where this leaves JRS - still possible I would think
