Well his first game is now.... second game tomorrow for us.... only misses Stoke and then back.SteveACS said:I don't know about his attitude, work rate or skill levels.
I just think it's stupid to sign someone who's just about to serve a 3 match ban...2 -
Not if you factor in we get him on loan and use the JRS money.ForeverAddickted said:Surprised actually that Charlton have been able to get a Skipp so easily - Usually I thought you had to apply for permits and the like to have one outside?4 -
Thank god there are more than three games left of the season thenSteveACS said:I don't know about his attitude, work rate or skill levels.

Maybe we couldn't get a more senior winger over the line.PringlesCurtains said:
What a let down. If that's the only winger then that's crap. I know nothing about the kid but if he's a 'proper talent' someone would've taken him earlier and not just linked with supposed clubs.Yann897 said:

Think it will be fair to say that any player who was involved in the last 2 seasons with Leicester will have a reputation to rebuild if and when they leave.AddickNL88 said:TheHerminator said:Do the poor attitude rumours come from disgruntled Leicester fans? Or are there other sources?I think the former. I can only find positive comments about his attitude from former managers such as Conte. Even Mourinho said: ""I see this kid being one day a future captain here by his character, by his personality. I feel really happy that he signed".
Of course, people can change. But Leicester have had a few terrible seasons, and it seems as though everyone associated with them has been tarnished by that
Look, it isn't a good to be part of a team involved in back to back relegations but Skipp comes with a great pedigree so if he wants it and wants to work his bollocks off to get back to where he was before, I'll be happy it's with us!
If this signing happens & Ouma can get up to speed, Chalobah stays fit and Cov keeps up this impressive form along with the emergence of Mwamba, this will be the best central midfielders we have had in an absolute age!0 -
Chelsea spent £15m on Hasselbaink in 2000 which would be about £24.5m in today's money. Safe to say we didn't get him at the peak of his careerDanny Addick said:Just a thought - have we ever signed a player who has at some point cost £20m? I,m not saying for a second he’ll be good btw, just interested. Grant cost £15m once but has anyone else cost as much?1 -
That surely wouldn't be the case would it? lol! - Feels like such a sneaky way to get around it... As if we sign him after Leicester play, he never would have been eligible for tomorrow night...?DamoNorthStand said:

Got quoted 5 mill for a league one winger and 10 mill plus for two championship wingers .. so we were going to take a massive 5 mill risk on JRSFerryman said:

Been saying this for a long time but we need to sign another goal scorer because right now (today) if Leaburn gets injured say tomorrow at WBA - which isn't beyond the realms of possibility then all we have as strike option is Mbick. This would be a disaster. With both Kelman and Godden currently injured this scenario could easily happen.
Sorry to sound a bit doom and gloom but this is Charlton we are talking about and as we all know if there is a possibility it could go wrong then it usually does.
Don't really see the point of Skipp but keeping fingers crossed and obviously sad that JRS didn't work out.
Hope nobody else gets injured (Currently 11 I believe) and keeping fingers crossed for another one coming in tonight.4 -
Didn't Abdul Fatawu also suffer consecutive relegations with Leicester? He's signed for Ipswich in the Premier League so clearly they weren't too worried that it had completely destroyed the player11

I was thinking this.WoolwichAddick said:Wonder if Skipp is at all to do with Ouma not looking up to snuff in training3 -
Reading the Skipp comments on here remind me of when chalobah was announced on trial.Let’s wait until we see him before we make judgment (if he signs)8

I don't think it works like that I think it's worded as next 3 matchdays? So tonight is Matchdays 4 in League 1 but also Matchday 4 in the championship, so his suspension won't take both games into accountForeverAddickted said:

Not sure it matters. It would be like a player that is injured on a red, they don’t start the clock when the play is fit again.ForeverAddickted said:

Think the quality of Skipp will surprise us, like Chalobah’s did. Norwich fan I know raved about him when he was on loan.4
-
We're signing Skipp because we need another midfielder, we have Chalobah, Coventry, Ouma, Mwamba. It doesn't mean Chalobah is more seriously injured nor does it mean Ouma is a dud, teams need to have a SQUAD43

Hoping we get Skipp over the line, he was Norwich best player when they won the league a few leagues ago. And was worth 25m recently . Played plenty of prem and European football . A different level of pedigree to what we have, if Jones can get the best out of him he could take us to another level. I remember him for a few games at Norwich and he was everywhere and broke up everything .9

Really? I seem to remember everyone saying he was a good player, but always injuredTodds_right_hook said:Reading the Skipp comments on here remind me of when chalobah was announced on trial.Let’s wait until we see him before we make judgment (if he signs)1 -
Skipp deal agreed according to Tash at Sky Sports 👍4
-
Okonkwo Mannion Brooks
Ramsay McNamara
Jones Koumetio Bell Bindon Burke
Mesík Edwards
Chalobah Coventry Ouma Docherty Mwamba
Carey Knibbs Rankin-Costello
Campbell Grant Alli Apter Nkeng
Godden Kelman Leaburn Mbick
As it stands, 26 players.
If Skipp joins, we need to offload 2 somehow. If we also add a striker, that becomes 3, seems a tall order to get that all done in 3 hours1 -
Excellent, the club have been looking to chuck away some old furniture at Sparrows Lane for agesRedRobin said:Skipp deal agreed according to Tash at Sky Sports 👍10 -

There were always a few. I know the CL names of two of them.Chunes said:Where were all you Dobbo haters when he was playing for us... Because I can but remember only one or two.
Funny how we all get out of step with the majority liking or disliking certain players. I was a stalwart supporter of TC and Leaburn when most of the mentions were hostile. I have never liked Knibbs, Apter, Rankin-Costello, Docherty or Carey. The one who broke my heart was Olaofe. I thought he would be the best of the signings, not the worst. I could not hate Ahadme. He was so comically inept. But we will always have Southend.

Leicester has been toxic. Skipp was a £20m player who looked the part at Spurs.
He’s always looked like a player with a great attitude.
I reckon he’d be a very shrewd addition.
