Just posting to say that after a busy days work I'm back up to date with the thread. If the rumours could properly start now that would be great!

    When is Mbick contracted until?
But we've the option until 2029
Need to renew him ASAP then. Or sell him in January.

    2028 I believe
Effectively 2029 as we have a 1 year club option.

    Get innnnn!

That being said, with all the interest in him, we're going to need to 1) pay him more and 2) play him more

Quite shocked that so many on here don’t see the potential of Mbick.
6’ 4” strong, very mobile, hard shot, scores goals:- 1 in 3 last season. Lower league but that is a great strike rate.
    Capped for England U20’s 2025.
    Only 19 yrs old.

He is going to be a top top striker.
    Harder shot than Martin Sandgaard?
    That player doesn’t exist.

Many clubs would be keen to find the next Harry Kane. As far as strikers go England is very weak so it makes sense that he’s a hot commodity.

    Harder even than the Plaffeministeren

Skipp plays in Coventry's role, doesn't he? Seen lots of people saying them two would be the partnership.

I don’t mind Skipp. NJ has a knack for getting the best out of talented players who have lost their way and are hungry to prove themselves again. I’ll give him a chance.

On reflection, I think our best business has been renewing the trio from last season, and Arthur. Lots of positivity this summer with other deals too like Ivan etc
A shame we didn’t get Holsgrove imo and obvs JRS.
    Overall: 8.5/10 for me

Double pivot, both of them holding allows the third central midfielder freedom to roam. If that player ends up being Grant then we'll need 2 decent defensive midfielders

People wonder why we're not progressing as a Football club, not spending money at this level blah blah blah
Then when we get poultry offers for our kids, wonder why we're rejecting such bids
    Did they offer chicken feed?

EDIT: At least two people beat me to it. If you want to have a dig at F.A. you have to get in quick, because so many are in a rush to do it.

Don’t think he wants to be here. Hopefully our move before Southamptons next. To put into context, Millwall getting double that amount for Azeez who was one of the best attackers
in the league last year. Mbick scored a few gials
in league two and in the cup against the paper mills. Like the clubs ambition but sometimes you need to know when a deal should be done.
    Yeah. So do you.
I think it’s a great price for someone that hasn’t really played for us.
He’s barely played for us and already teams are bidding £7m. He’s only 19. There’s clearly so much more to come from him and getting the most out of sales is such an important part of progressing as a football club. It would be insane to sell him now
I agree but to be honest I’ve seen nothing yet to suggest he’s worth anywhere near those figures. He could end up being worth a lot more or he could become a dud. It’s the chance you take.

I think it’s been more 2 sitters than 1 sitter and a number 8 this season. So I think any pairing probably works fine. Would agree he’s probably most similar to Coventry though

Imagine Skipp will be a rotation with Chalobah and Cov the first choice in that two. Mwamba already capable in this team as well + Ouma. I can’t see how Doc stays in this squad beyond today.

Bid rejected from Southampton for Mbick, £5m+£2m add ons. From Tash on twitter.
I would bite their hands off & drive him.there myself tonight.

    Bonkers turning that down imo.
We could triple that price at the end of the season. The lad will be a premier league striker in a couple of seasons IMHO
Oh good. He can join up Leaburn again as he was deemed Premier League quality 2 years ago.

Do you ever wake up and think "You know what, I'm not going to be such a fucking moaner today!" Or has that never happened?

You really are so fucking boring
I think some people have a strange way of thinking if you think my posts constitutes moaning.

Merely pointing out that 18 months ago we were in this position supposedly fighting off bids from Chelsea & Germany for Leaburn's signature.

I just happen to not fawn over players or think that they are better than what they've shown us.

But I've had enough of this bickering tonight. Always seems to be the same posters digging me out. Gets tiresome in the end.

I wont resort to profanities so I bid you goodnight.

Regarding Holsgrove, do we reckon the fact he was essentially dragging his heels at the start of the window is what has now buggered him in getting a move at all, and Estoril have now blocked it as it’s too late in the window?

I know we heard all sorts of things about him not wanting to come to us, so the fact he might not move anywhere at all now is quite satisfying.
