I believe the Leicester City fans were scathing about Coady previously.
Welcome Oliver, above everything else be a winner.
  • Didn’t want him, don’t think he really improves us. But he’s here now so hopefully proves me wrong and can find his Norwich form.

Not overly excited by this signing, which could be a good thing if my recent judgement continues😂, as I always say once in the shirt he has my full support, good luck and welcome to the club.
This is exactly how I feel. Well said that man

I think he will thrive under Nathan.
A pity we haven’t signed him on a permanent and I sincerely hope that there is not a recall option in January.
Could we have an option to buy?
  • For every Leicester fan who thinks he's shit, there's a Norwich fan who will tell you he was really good for them in a team that won the league. He was named in the Championship team of the season that year.

Please explain to me why, a team trying to get out of league 1 are happy to let an (allegedly championship quality player go out on loan) surely they need quality players to get promoted.

They want a refresh of the squad, need to trim the wage bill a bit and he will have wanted to play Championship football

They're financially a mess and need his wages (or at least some of them) off the books. There's even been rumours of administration but not sure how true they are.

For context on how 'shit' he was at Leicester i found these comments on one of their sites.

"one of the only players last season who looked like he wanted to be here and gave us everything he had, week in week out"

"He may very well be limited, but the price we paid wasn't his fault and he gave everything every time he played, unlike some others I could mention"

However i cannot confirm whether or not these messages were posted by Linda Skipp..........

Leicester's demise can't be pinned on Skipp. He needs to get his career back on track which is why we could get him. He did look good for Spurs and did ok for Norwich. Now he is out of the toxic environment, hoping we see the player we saw not that long ago.

Out of the chronic toxicity that has been Leicester for two years and back home in London.
You'd like to think that fresh start coupled with Jones' enthusiasm at a club on an upward curve will all help reinvigorate a player who cost £20m, won 24 caps at England U21 level and who helped win the European Under-21 Championship in 2023.

He 'did ok for Norwich' is maybe the most absurd thing anyone has posted across this entire transfer period, no offence lol

Charlton are the mentality monsters in 26/27.

Jones says in his interview after signing that he’s known ‘Skippy’ for a long time. Is that from youth football as i can’t see where they would have crossed paths before? To be fair to Nathan Jones he’s done well with players he’s know in the past. Small, Berry, Bell, Jones. All players that weren’t particularly fancied at their old clubs but then totally different for us. Hopefully the same with this.

On Wikipedia says he is a predominantly defensive midfielder ... so where does that leave Coventry?

Hopefully we see a bit of a resurrection story for Skipp, there was definitely a player in there at one point and if he can get back to those levels it looks like a smart bit of business.

Will be interesting to see how we manage the minutes and prioritise between Chalobah, Coventry, Skipp, Ouma and Mwamba but I'll take that over last season's solution of signing a centre back on loan and putting him into midfield.

Skipp will either play alongside him or they'll rotate.

Yeah I reckon they both play tonight with Chalobah injured, unless Skipp wasn't registered in time? Otherwise imagine it's Coventry and Ouma/Mwamba?

Perrenially injured? Seems to be a Charlton standard maybe Leicester too.

    Good luck Oliver.
