Summer Window 2026 - Rumours and Discussion (DEADLINE DAY from Page 814)

  • The big shift this year is a lot of our signings have had previous Championship (or higher) experience.

    Okonkwo
    McNamara Bindon
    Skipp Chalobah
    Grant Alli

    compared to the previous summer

    Kaminski
    Bell Burke
    JRC

    .
That also highlights from 12 months ago that just because players have ‘Championship experience’, that doesn’t mean they’ll deliver ‘Championship quality’.

Only Bell did that from the previous 4. Let’s hope we get a better return this year.

I respectfully disagree, Burke’s fitness has been frustrating but no way is his quality L1. Personal problems have affected TK’s performance but I’d argue his shot stopping at points in the season won us matches that kept us up. JRS is the bigger disappointment. He has the ability but his pace and strength is lacking for most divisions.
  • Hats off to stjohnshill! Passed on info without hindering any of our transfers. Well done.
If only some posters on here could actually understand the fine line the ITK have to walk.

Bless them, I don’t think they’ll ever get it.

A fully fit Burke, not that that has ever been seen, is still not good enough.
Blaming Kaminski's constantly poor performances on personal problems is a joke. He probably lost us 10 times the points that any of his saves (it's what goalkeepers are supposed to do!) made us.

No, he was never going to join once he failed a part of the medical and his former agent started asking for payment on top of the fees we were already paying.

When the club realised how messy it was getting, combined with the fact that the medical issue (whatever it may be) was adding extra risk, we decided the hassle and the near £5m outlay, plus making him one of the highest earners, wasn't worth it.

I wish people would stop just peddling any old rubbish, trying to make the club look incompetent, when almost everything they're doing right now points in the opposite direction

If we assume Doc is definitely off, Collins not registered, the only options I can think of is Apter/Knibbs (whichever) moving abroad to a league where the window is still open (maybe Scotland like mentioned for Doc).

People might shout this one down straight away, but do the club pay up Burke and take the hit?  Financially not great, and we’re short at CB, but with a year left, and his record, he’s not going to add anything- I’m wondering if it’s best to cut ways now
To be fair could the recall of Laqeretabua mean we might actually not register Burke until January possibly rather than pay up his contract and then re-assess? Do we know roughly how long Burke is already injured for?
Laq is under 21 so does not count

We'll have to agree to disagree. I believe some of the poor performances by our players have been overhyped and exaggerated, not saying this is you but TC is a prime example.

Bid rejected from Southampton for Mbick, £5m+£2m add ons. From Tash on twitter.
I would bite their hands off & drive him.there myself tonight.

    Bonkers turning that down imo.
Why do you generally think the opposite of me?
    Thinking aloud, no answer necessary.

Wonder if we’ll dip into the free agents market? Some interesting names on there that I think could be of use, unless we’re maxed out now.

Danny Ings, Will Smallbone, Joe Aribo, Solly March…

Doubt it, because we still need to move on one more player, assuming Collins won’t be registered. Apter or Knibbs is my guess.

So 2 players to go out, Docherty and ? I’d rather lose Costello or Knibbs than lose Apter now we’ve got so many midfielders
Get rid of all three in a "buy one, get three" offer. They would be superstars in Scotland or Uzbekistan or many other countries whose windows are still open.

There’s your 2 in and 3 out as expected! 👍🏻 9/10 window for me in terms of money spent and players brought in, on top of that is players that we have renewed on a longer term contract. Would have been a 10/10 if we did manage to bring in a proven championship RW but that’s not the case and we can all move on and support the team this season. I think this will be a much better season than last and let’s just hope we are around mid table come January as you never know if we will be backed to push towards the play offs… you just never know!! 🔴👍🏻
