Don’t understand the momentum graphs. That makes it look like they absolutely battered us
  • The fact they've had 70 per cent possession doesn't really matter - we've set up to allow that to happen.
  • Brilliant defensive display. If you go toe to toe with a team with a significant better budget and quality away from home you will get punished. This approach worked at West Ham, it’s just WBA defenders are a bit more savvy than the Spam and are not being bullied.

We done pretty well kept them at bay .. .. other end Leaburn needs to start holding the ball up .. Campbell not been in it Mawanda finding it a completely different game starting then coming on when the game stretched .. .. they been pretty good at home so we doing ok ..but we do need to give our back line a break .. and spend sometime down the other end

Bit of a nothing half from us.

Okonkwo done well with the crosses.

Mwamba struggling to meet the pace of the game, really missing Chalobah. Maybe Ouma gets a run out?

Swapping TC to the right feels like a mistake, he had their RB bang to rights, other side he's just been a passenger.

Diakité looks dangerous for them. And we need to switch on to these quick freekicks and short corners.

We just need to be better in possession. Our pass accuracy in the final third is just 37% compared to their 86%.

Alli, Bell, DMac, Bindon have all given the ball away cheaply

So sloppy on the ball at times. There would have been a few more openings for us with a better touch or pass.

28% and we’ve had 6 touches to their 10 in the box.
  • This so reminds ne of the away game at middlesbrough last year.

Albion with loads of the ball, passing us to death but getting nowhere.

All we need us a long throw sometime in the second half for Jones to turn in!

Ps Arthur is different gravy to TK.

  • I’m very aware this is a tough midweek away game, in the midst of a relentless schedule.

But all that talk of evolution, this has very much felt exactly like the sort of performance we saw last year.

Have to look at the bigger picture for sure - but really hope we don’t see these sorts of performances all year.

That’s a footballers half of football. Dire for the neutral but when you know our capabilities that’s really good.

A Charlton away performance we’ve seen many a time, let’s hope the result ends up like it has,,,, many a time. Solid and unspectacular with the opposition saying we are shit👍

So far, it's very cat and mouse. With both teams fielding mice.

We've been good and patient out of possession but need to make more of turnovers. Lots of sloppy and losoe touches giving them the ball straight back. Not that it's easy when you haven't touched the ball but we need to be better.

Possession is nothing without an end product.

If we keep up that defending then WBA have to go to a plan b, if they have one.

It isn't exciting but we are playing our way to that draw everyone was happy with before the game.
  • The least I’ve been impressed with McNamara this game
Yes, thought both our full backs had a poor half.

I think we've done alright. West Brom have had more possession, but we've always been in control. We can win this.

One of those games where a manager earns their corn. Do you change it to add more thrust or keep it simple and continue to be solid?

We do need to find a bit more about us on the ball in the second half.  It will be a long 90 minutes if we don’t get a bit of possession.  If they score first we might be in a bit of bother

we can do it, come on you reds

We won't play like this all season, we haven't played like this every game so far. This is just the best team we've played so far
  • 🤞for scrappy Lloyd Jones goal from a corner in the 83rd minute then put 12 men behind the ball

I would say that apart from West Ham second half when they were down 0-2 we haven't seen a performance like this. But I promise you this won't be the last time you see a performance like this, and that's okay. They're designed to have lots of the ball but lack a focal point, we have a focal point but we're built to hit on the counter. We've been a couple of sloppy touches away from carving out some decent opportunities, and we've kept them at bay.

I promise you this is how we'll play against Boro and Soton and the like. This is Jonesball at its grittiest. But this isn't how we played at home against Preston and Derby, and I don't expect it will be how we play every week.

    That was exciting. NOT

About as eventful as a nunnery.  Can't remember a half so devoid of attacking threat. Akonkwo the busiest of our players & made a couple of decent saves / blocks.

I know it's all about stopping the home team / quieting the crowd / not waking the baby, but it takes 2 teams to make a football match and currently there is only one team that looks like troubling the scorers.

We finally get some attacking players on the pitch and then we fail to give them the ball.  TC has had 1 run at goal.

I suppose I'd take a draw before kick off so lets hope we can keep it tight in the 2nd half. Never know, we even get into their box this half

  • As uninspiring as our football last season. Defending in numbers but constantly losing the ball and inviting pressure.

We look dodgy passing out from the back - very ponderous.

    Arthur looks solid in goal.

There's a difference for me. In that game every attack felt like they could score, that we somehow kept them out felt like a miracle. This one feels like we're quite comfortable and could step up a gear if needed.
