Fairly organised, disciplined half, West brom.are good and have held and passed the ball around well but we can break if we get the chance and ball right.

Okonkwo looks assured in goal, making everything look routine, Mwamba a little behind the game at times but that's to be expected given his age and experience.

The wings and 10 position and players is a headache, Grant and TC both better on the left, plus grant you want to have on the pitch as long as possible, Ali has looked decent enough and the west brom players just bounce off him so how you change it up I don't know 😅

With their constant possession near our penalty area we only need to make one slip and they will be in. We would need to keep possession for longer once we have the ball to get the pressure off.. Sadly not our forte.
Need a bit more nous in midfield tonight.

Feel so much more confident with Okonkwo in goal... Good defensive performance. Think I'd get Knibbs on and try to press them a bit higher up the pitch, plus he is always likely to nick a goal. Draw up here would be a great result though

🤞for scrappy Lloyd Jones goal from a corner in the 83rd minute then put 12 men behind the ball
Or another overhead kick, 90 + 5 mins.

I think we've done all right. West Brom have had more possession, but we've always been in control. We can win this.
Yeah they don't realise they're playing into our cunning trap

Him and Bindon to both do an overhead kick together, their boots touching the ball at the same time

I'd bring Carey on for Alli. I think this is more his type of game. They are a very good passing side but haven't created much for all that!

First I've seen of the new players:
Grant is excellent in everything he does
Alli makes a few misplaced passes.
Mamba, Okonkwo and Bindon look solid in their roles.

I like it. I'm not a fan of defensive football but away to an established Championship team you have to be realistic. Keep this up and you never know, we might sneak it.

This team makes me feel like some good times might be around the corner. Compared to the last 15 years, even mid- table in the Championship is good times.

    C'mon you reds.

The least I’ve been impressed with McNamara this game
Has given the ball away cheaply a couple of times.
  • Or another overhead kick, 90 + 5 mins.
    One can only dream 😉

As one would expect, but we must continue to defend, cut out errors of tiredness as the half progressess. They will come out with renewed energy.

Need to get hold of the ball and use our pace and attack or eventually they will score if we keep letting them having the ball

I’m very aware this is a tough midweek away game, in the midst of a relentless schedule.

But all that talk of evolution, this has very much felt exactly like the sort of performance we saw last year.

Have to look at the bigger picture for sure - but really hope we don’t see these sorts of performances all year.
Games like this last year without too much possession were more backs to the wall with no idea in possession. We’ve looked comfortable and patient with the ball today.

We'll sit back in some games but we have looked dangerous on the counter previously, and that's been exciting to watch. Today, when the ball breaks and we look like we can go the other way, we just keep miscontrolling it and giving it straight back to them.

I'd go for Carey and Ouma/Costello for Alli and Mwamba but overall a good defensive display so far.

From what's been on show so far, Chalobah is clearly a very good player

And literally right from kick off we fecking miscontrol it and give it away again.
  • Maybe we should have kept doc for a couple of hours just to nail Isaac Price
