My only problem with these scheduling complaints is that when it benefits us (and it will later in the season) it never/rarely works out that the opposition look tired etc.FishCostaFortune said:I think Jones does let the schedule stuff get to much into his thought making process.

Re the pen - Pretty sure I’d be right in saying that most supporters of any side would generally expect the ref to blow his whistle, give the two players a talking-to, and have the corner retaken. Maybe if it was given elsewhere on the pitch, it wouldn’t be as much of an issue, but the fact that the decision to give a foul resulted in a pen means most would feel that the punishment outweighs the infringement.
Also pretty sure any other supporter of any other club would be slightly aggrieved to be on the wrong end of that decision, especially when you add it to the other three or four terrible decisions given in the game.

Couldn’t have been much of a worse day really. Charlton’s debacle, Palace and Millwall winning, horse bets on a par with today’s reffing performance and an arsewipe of a neighbour has a bonfire at 4pm on a hot Saturday afternoon.

The only time I have had the chance to meet a manager after a game was after Southend away on new year's Eve. 2 all draw. Karl Robinson was at the service station in McDonald's. I told him the reason why we didn't win is because we aren't playing our youngsters as much as we should specifically Aribo... Rest is history.. Was hoping to go today as Stoke is one of three Championship ticks I need. Got stuck at a kids birthday party instead. Both torture but quite glad I didn’t make the trip.1

Not the best away day, totally fell apart for half an hour, dozy ref and strange team selection and that was that, note to self don't do Stoke next season.2

Said on the match thread. Don't think it's a coincidence that this seems to happen against Stoke and Southampton. Jones is so on edge at the best of times so when we play them his history with them puts him even more on edge and it feeds through to the players loss of composure.12

If you can't give your opinion then this site wouldn't exist.. and many commentators and pundits would be out the job. I wouldn't be rude but if you can't say what you think face to face then you shouldn't say it at all, especially online without any context. From what i've read he was a bit slow to get going on loan at Sheff Utd and even lost his place in the side, but then came back in and did brilliantly. So perhaps he just needs a bit of time to settle in. The 4th goal sums up a day when everything that could go wrong did. Their player was jumping out of the way of a shot going wide and it clips his heel and goes in.
All that being said the collective mental collapse for 20 minutes after the penalty stunk of Charlton teams of yesteryear.
Back to the referee and Linesman, I actually think the corner not given from the back pass was up there as one of the worst decisions I have ever seen. It was 3 yards over the line when their keeper cleared it.
I left the 'hi-lights' running at full time as I wanted to see McNamara's sending off again. An absolute joke of a decision. He was sent off for pointing at the goal which was interpreted as waving his hand asking for a card. Utter nonsense.8 -
I'm firmly on Team Jones but I will absolutely admit that he has a couple of weird hang-ups psychologically when he's against sides he "failed" at. He has colossal amounts of self-confidence which is normally a strength but when it runs up against the fact that certain sides actually fired him for his performances there it seems to drive him way too far into his own head sometimes.cantersaddick said:Said on the match thread.
