    My dear old Dad was a RMP ( London Provost Company) and his office/ guard room was in the Connaught. 
    He met my Mum at a dance ( She worked in the Arsenal) at Woolwich Town Hall. 
    He was a scouser and loved a scrap , so being a RMP in Woolwich suited him down to the ground. 
    Loved the Army/ Navy Rugby game, he would go toe to toe with the Navy Regulators. But he always had a strong sense of fairness. 
    But he made Woolwich his home, he was on Plumstead Common watching a game of bowls, in his late 70s when two Herbert’s tried to mugger him. 
    (Both white lads ) he broke his walking stick hitting the tallest and the other he couldn’t catch up with the other.
