People saying 'can I get?' at various establishments rather than 'please may I have'.
English people who say 'Anyways' instead of 'Anyway'
People starting every sentence with "So", unless you are interrupted in some way there is no need to add it constantly.
Bubble permed boys saying 'Bro'. People saying 'it is what it is' Croydon face lift girls peppering every sentence with a 'literally' or 'like' where it isn't necessary, I could go on.........

how about people who start sentences with "look" and include the phrase "the best version of themselves" in statements?

Yes! And also- 'Listen' as if to demand that someone listens and is incapable of listening without the prompt.

Absolutely right, but I put that in as a 'curveball'- another one I hate.
Oh and 'bore off', lovely one that.

The phase I find most irritating is:
”No…you know what I mean “ at the end of every sentence

I think I know what you mean.

    One my wife's family use

"Put the wood in the hole"

Saves zero time, more syllables than "shut the fucking door" and doesn't mean I look like I've had a head injury and take 5 seconds to wonder what on this green earth they are on about

"It is what it is". Annoyingly over-used.

Hard agree on anyone who has already cited

    The over/misuse of literally
    Normalcy. Nope, its normality
Are you ok? This has replaced the ironic and overused U OK hon? And is performative passive aggression that deserves a response of actual physical aggression
Are you mad? I can understand it when some angry black roadman from Stratford or Leytonstone is telling it but like dreadlocks, this is not for white boys from suburbia
#bekind. Always used by vicious, bitter, interfering, nosey, gimlets who are anything other than kind

One I learned recently, because I think Kier Starmer posted something about he was a proud gooner and got battered for it. I had no idea what gooning was in the modern parlance and wished I hadn't looked it up. It does suit Kier Starmer though

By "gimlet", do you mean the classic cocktail made with gin and lime, or the small hand tool used for drilling holes in wood?
  • People who start a sentence with 'honestly now' which implies they are lying most of the time.

It’s not so much phrases that bother me than the way people say them.

That vocal fry thing that seems to only be used by young women is the worst. If you’re not sure what I mean, this is it dealt with beautifully by the hero of the show ‘Loudermilk’.
