Not a phrase but people using 'like' so many times in a sentence when not necessary.

eg I was like with my friend like and we like were walking like down the road like and this person like said like .........
Kudos to @Arthur_Trudgill for giving that comment a 'like'.
  • And right on queue today.
There was a RNLI rescue of a dog from a cliff yesterday. Most comments……so glad the dog was ok, well done to the crew.
Then along comes, ‘dogs should be kept on a lead, people have no cop on’.

Shut up you eejit! Not only does that make you sound pathetically judgmental but you have no idea what happened so zip it!

It was my friends dog, it was a total freak accident & we’re all just relieved she’s ok. My friend, not so much.

    Agree 100%.

The amount of times I hear or read 110%, HOW?
  • 'monetize' instead of profit, or make money. Used in order to sound ingenious.

Hate the phrase, “so I turned round and said to him…..”. Why is everyone facing the wrong way?
My wife and I watched 10 episodes of a drama back to back. I could see it all but she turned round and said to me “I can’t see a thing facing this way”.
  • Are we all on the same page?
  • “Is it in yet?”
  • Drink up
  • Smash it
  • getting a lot of "slay" and vibes" from my kids at the moment. Not to describe anything I've said or done mind, which is perhaps what irritates me.
  • Adding "like", "you know" or "but" to the end of every sentence.

  • Is that 110% super excited?

    Absof.... lutely
  • Brah. My kids have started saying it at the start of pretty much every sentence. I may not be responsible for my actions if this continues.
  • ‘The Feds’ when mentioning the police. Have we moved to the US?
  • Adding "like", "you know" or "but" to the end of every sentence.
Has 'you know' taken over from 'you know what I mean'?
  • 'calling out', doesn't even make sense, stop fucking doing it
  • Last orders.

    “Is it in yet?”
Or "Did you have it in at all?" is another very common one
