I can’t see a scenario where somebody says “Yeah I will take that large chunk and subsequent financial commitment to keep the club running - but not have full control whilst person x, y and z want to stay on.

Might be wrong - but I think that’s making things tricky for us.

Probably why there has been mixed messages around being up for sale or looking for investment.

Strictly speaking one owner out and a new one in is new investment but the reality is that unless the investor is happy keeping to others on it might become a sale by default

    This can’t be right.

Our owners are here for the long term and really like the project…

Lucius Aelius Sejanus is named co-Consul to Emperor Tiberius. However, Tiberius becomes aware of Sejanus' treachery and has him arrested and executed.

Issue we have is that the biggest shareholder is looking to sell up. But who is gonna want to buy that and not own the whole lot.

The person who wants out owns the biggest stake and also has the most wealth in terms of stumping up the cash to keep us ticking over….
If someone is replacing him, the others trying to hang on will turn into a problem that roadblocks us being looked at by investors
But...but...but.....we were told last month that we weren't for sale.

    We were always for sale.
Why hire two different brokers (at cost) if you weren't looking for a sale.
    Additional investment my backside.

What valuation have you got on it?

  • Our ownership model is complex and it’ll take someone very determined to unpick the threads and convince all parties that a deal is right.
  • I thought this was an interesting angle given to me in a text in the last couple of days:

"Herein lies the challenge: the upside value has been realised by reaching the Championship. Next big win is the EPL - but that needs huge gambling money , hence the £50M spend the last 2 years".

This suggests it is a damn sight more expensive than previously realised just to tread water in this league, and the money required to go up is too big a risk against the ability to 3 or 4 x return your money now.

£50m to tread water in the Champ and that’s without the cost of buying the ground or the TG…yikes

Coud this be linked with the behind the scenes/off the pitch issues that seemingly
    aren't being addressed currently ?

Spending money ( well, some) on the squad but not on the infastructure & even staffing levels ?

Maybe they should be advised that, believe it or not, there's more to OUR club than just the the game itself.

Few other things that are consistent with the above in terms of where the money is being spent.....

    1) Staff can come and go, leave whenever they want, and as such can take their skills away at any time. For somebody coming in they would either want their own person, or at the very least expensive staff wont add to the value of the club to whoever is selling. Hence no CEO, senior commercial leader etc.....

    2) Whilst we dont own the ground, a new investor / owner MAY want to consider doing a deal to buy it back. If so - whilst it is not an asset of ours per se as we dont own it - it could very easily be considered one in the true future value of the club to a buyer so must be maintained.

    3) Playing staff wise - if Prem is seen as gambling money, then last seasons result with perhaps a minor evolution and progress makes sense. Keep us safe from relegation until such time someone comes in ready to flash the cash. I would say the kind of singings we have made this summer reflect that stance.
  • no one is going to make money out of us , go up and it will cost a fortune to stay there , if you own us prepare for losses each and every year

Done a lot worse... But in all seriousness, if we are up for sale, I can't see a reason Stavely and co wouldn't have a look. Prime location, probably relatively cheap comparatively and we are on the up

You’d like to think we are an attractive proposition, but whether we are in actuality is a different matter!

Equally, I’d imagine that current owners have slapped a large price tag on us to wipe their face on the investment

Don’t like what you say, but have to agree with you entirely.

Pity the club and the fans are the last to know the true story.

    Someone must know more.🤞

Quite frankly can’t see anyone willing to invest in a club which in total would be valued at 100M which we’re not worth and have a complex ownership structure. But to be honest as long as we keeping making the insanely good decisions we have been on a lower budget then I’m not really crying out for more investment at this stage.

I’d much have a group that may not be willing to spend as much but have their heads screwed on right then give it to some multi-billionaire who has zero clue what they’re doing (Duchatelet).
