Irritating that NJ didn't make the subs we probably needed, Leaburn had a great game but having a Kelman off the shoulder against tired defenders makes more sense.

Bottom line, that should have been 3 points for us.

Another shocking refereeing performance, not giving the penalty for Leaburn was a fucking joke. Sick of the standard of officiating.

Bit disappointed another home game without a goal. What's the point of having subs if your not going to use them

NJ only making one sub is ridiculous….could see players were tired…don’t think you can play Skipp and Cov together if u want to score
One of the best CM displays in years and you come out with that? What exactly could they have done? Tell our forwards to cross and finish better, and say pretty please?
Same type of player….Cov played well and Skipp was ok….great tackle to stop a breakaway….but who is going to play the creative role?
Did you miss both of them constantly passing between the lines to Grant, Campbell and Alli? What do you think 'the creative role' is? Claus Jensen magically back to dribble around 2004-era EPL players?

Positive performances, and Bindon aside, defence looked solid and without worry!

absolutely baffled there was no introduction of Mwamba/carey/nkeng- game was absolutely calling out for it.

HAVE to start scoring, otherwise we are going to really start sliding down the table despite looking a lot more solid.

    Very disappointed

Played well just couldn’t put the ball in the net.
Skipp and Coventry looked really good .
Leaburn ran himself into the ground again.
Subs were probably too little too late.

Not expecting many to agree with me here, but I'd have VAR in the Championship...

Or at the very least automated corners/goal kicks, half the time officials just guess

Are we allowed to criticise that one or is it another great point at home?

If you're going to create one chance all game, you have to take it.

1 goal in the last 4 games.
Attacking display in 26/27 - meet attacking display 25/26.
No lessons learned from last season.
Winnable game that we couldn't get the 3 points from due to lack of quality and fitness.
So why on Earth did Jones only make one change? Mindblowing stuff.
I'm sure he'll avoid that to only talk about the ref again though.
There was nobody on the bench as good as the players they would have replaced. Crap bench so no subs.

That was a penalty on leaburn at end. Clear. But we should of took our chances before then.

We cant play skipp and Coventry together at home. No creativity and they dont move ball quick enough.

Love Leaburns displays but wish he would attack the near post especially when Tyreece is crossing.

Somebody we will buy next summer?
  • The window has just closed where we had an opportunity to remedy the fact that we can’t score enough goals and didn’t. Same problem as last year and it’s frustrating as hell.

You know the answer to that, of course not.

I’d really like to understand the thought process behind using only one substitute today when it’s been clear that the entire team has been running on fumes for the last seven days at least.

We completely lost our grip on the game and were only really able to wrestle it back right at the end. Even then, Campbell was quite ineffective.

We needed fresh legs from Knibbs, Carey, JRC or even Nkeng and it never came.

It's the job of the 3 behind the 1 to create, really baffled as to why Skipp and Cov are being called when they were our 2 best players

We look unfit. Players blowing at their arse from 60 mins onwards. The game is screaming for subs and we make one.

2 wide men who can't cross. Alli was so poor after his miss.

We made some great defensive additions in the summer but our inability to improve our attacking options means we are unable to break shit teams down. Horrific to watch.

Not a disaster but they were really there for the taking. Highlight was bumping into @WSS before the game, not spoken to him for a long time.

Very disappointing after such a strong first half. Portsmouth will be down the bottom again and even when they improved they were sloppy on the ball. Would say they didn’t have us properly worried other than a 10-15 minute period, but ended up forcing Okonkwo into a couple of big saves. Sadly we then became extremely sloppy ourselves, lots of bad touches and Alli disappeared which made it a lot easier for them to stop TC who did his best. Bindon once again looks fine for long periods and then suddenly loses his mind.

On a positive note, we would have lost that last season. Players are completely wrecked and need a break ASAP.

Totally lost for words at the 3rd refereeing performance in a row that was a long way beyond unacceptable. The decision to not give a corner at the end there was without doubt the worst I’ve seen watching Charlton (that’s having seen us not get a corner when the ball was 2 yards out of play last weekend). I know all football fans complain about refs but I am truly mystified as to what I’m seeing.

Because we've a toxic relationship with midfielders for ages, Arter and Gilbey broke us and now if they're not playing successful through balls or scoring bangers every game they should be replaced immediately by 'someone creative' (whatever that means)

You're telling me that none of Knibbs, Rankin-Costello, Carey or Mwamba could offer me more than a completely exhausted Grant, Leaburn and Campbell?

I didn't see the game today, I followed online, but a few positives spring to mind:

    - it's a point we didn't get last season
    - another clean sheet
    - Millwall got pumped and Palace lost at home to Ipswich
    - we're 6th in the league after 7 games with a bunch of first team players injured
We need to start scoring more though, hopefully that will come as players come back / get fit.

We really only have 1 unfit front player in Godden. All the injured playeds are defenders, with just Chalobah as the outlier in midfield.

Although having to chop & change your defence is unsettling I really don"t think getting Billy & Edward's back is dramatically change our impetus and get us scoring 2 or 3 goals a game.

Okay sure buddy. Let us wear out Leaburn, Campbell and Grant even more then, risking them an injury as tired players get injured far easier.

I sit close to Jim Rodwell right by the press box and as he walked back into the lounge he looked exasperated and had a furrowed brow, the lack of chances must be concerning him.
