Competent and solid. No panicking.Points in the bag. You’d hope we get better little by little going forward as the injuries abate.4

You're telling me that none of Knibbs, Rankin-Costello, Carey or Mwamba could offer me more than a completely exhausted Grant, Leaburn and Campbell?Southbank said:
There was nobody on the bench as good as the players they would have replaced. Crap bench so no subs.SELR_addicks said:1 goal in the last 4 games.Attacking display in 26/27 - meet attacking display 25/26.No lessons learned from last season.Winnable game that we couldn't get the 3 points from due to lack of quality and fitness.
So why on Earth did Jones only make one change? Mindblowing stuff.I'm sure he'll avoid that to only talk about the ref again though.2 -
Poor old Rodwell. If he only he'd helped bring a proper winger in after the JRS deal fell through eh?aki2798 said:I sit close to Jim Rodwell right by the press box and as he walked back into the lounge he looked exasperated and had a furrowed brow, the lack of chances must be concerning him.7 -
NJ spent money to sign 3 of the 4 players I've just mentioned.Southbank said:

One chance? Off the top of my head:Croydon said:Are we allowed to criticise that one or is it another great point at home?
If you're going to create one chance all game, you have to take it.- Grant had one excellent chance that was saved and a couple more half-chances.
- Alli had one excellent chance he should have buried and a couple more half-chances.
- Leaburn fouled in the box not given.
- In the final five minutes there were multiple scrambles in the Portsmouth box.
Frustrating, but we’re creating chances.24 -
Or a proper 10. Kelman playing there at the end makes it 5 or 6 who have been tried. Grant is the best but can't do it for 90.DDOUBLEE said:

A week or so ago I would have disagreed with you but looking at some of the nonsense officials have thrown our way during the last few days I'm starting to think that as The Championship is fast becoming a Premier League 2 in all but name it needs to have officiating that stands up to scrutiny along with its top tier brethren (not that the Premier League is perfect in that regard) clearly it does not. The Campbell disallowed goal v QPR and the penalty call today could cost us come the end of the season, hopefully it won't, but these are very fine margins, it affects all clubs of course but the cost of these errors can be high.LittleAddick said:Not expecting many to agree with me here, but I'd have VAR in the Championship...
Or at the very least automated corners/goal kicks, half the time officials just guess6 -
Not only a lack of goals but what two shots on target, both first half, none second. With all the games we've played just the one sub was surprising. Thought no one played badly but CC and Miles the pick of the bunch. The draw midweek was acceptable if we'd won today but we didn't. 1 goal scored in four games isn't good at all. Massive improvement needed. A win next week needed to go into the international break on a high.4

There’s well documented reasons for why Portsmouth were far fresher than us today. I don’t believe there is an issue with our fitness and conditioning set up.Croydon said:We look unfit. Players blowing at their arse from 60 mins onwards. The game is screaming for subs and we make one.
2 wide men who can't cross. Alli was so poor after his miss.
We made some great defensive additions in the summer but our inability to improve our attacking options means we are unable to break shit teams down. Horrific to watch.
It would be nice to hear the logic behind the lack of substitutions however.19 -

We look fairly solid in defence but three and a half matches without scoring a goal is a big concern.1

Ridiculous takeaway. They were excellent todaycs1986 said:That was a penalty on leaburn at end. Clear. But we should of took our chances before then.
We cant play skipp and Coventry together at home. No creativity and they dont move ball quick enough.
Love Leaburns displays but wish he would attack the near post especially when Tyreece is crossing.8 -
Is this necessary?

And the shocking miss by Alii in the first halfswords_alive said:Enjoyable overall. Can't say anyone had a poor game. Just tired and subs nowhere to be seen, over than kelman who i dont think touched the ball. Then it all boils down to a pen not given on Leaburn in the 88th minutes.0 -

Less injury risk too.If NJ doesn't know that I would seriously worry about his intelligence.2 -
Looked like a late season relegation scrap. Two teams almost totally devoid of creativity.5

Because no one on the bench would have improved us in the second half, the lack of quality we have.SELR_addicks said:1 goal in the last 4 games.Attacking display in 26/27 - meet attacking display 25/26.No lessons learned from last season.Winnable game that we couldn't get the 3 points from due to lack of quality and fitness.

Not there today & neither did I watch it online so cant comment on the match itself. But......
3 games without a goal
2 goals in the last 5 games.
Only one team (Lincoln) have scored less than us, and they also played a game less too.
Nothing had really changed from last season with regard to our attacking intent. Nothing in midfield to create chances & Leaburn is not a "sniffer" or fox in the box so any half chances go a'beggjng.
As for NJ and his non use of the subs. Just baffling. Never want to hear him moan about fixture schedules or muscle injuries again.

Shame we didn't turn that first half display into a goal but another clean sheet, the midfield looks decent, we're 2 points off top still and we've definitely cast out that Stoke result as an aberration. We've also done infinitely better against Pompey than we did last season, and what may be important down the line is that we haven't given a possible basement rival any gained points on us. We need to go in search of that next win so the first three games aren't a distant memory but if we can go and get 3 points off Cardiff and come out of the international break hopefully with a lot more players to choose from it'll be an incredible start to the season16

1 goal in the last 4 games but Jones will spend his time making digs at ex-goalkeepers. Christ.Maybe he spent the second half coming up with that zinger rather than making subs.4
-
I thought that was a really strong performance and we were unlucky not to win.
I like nasty Miles. Leads the line well and if the refs aren't going to give him decisions he should lean into that.
Karlan had a quieter game today, and I feel like Alli was pushing just a bit too much because he wanted to shut up the Pompey fans.
Skipp seems to be really coming on in midfield and could be a great under the radar signing.
Get Okonkwo on a permanent deal before Wrexham realise their mistake.

We were powder puff in the opposition goal area. Only Grant had one shot with power behind it, and the headers were off target or weak. No natural goal scorer in sight.Bedsaddick said:Played well just couldn’t put the ball in the net.Skipp and Coventry looked really good .Leaburn ran himself into the ground again.Subs were probably too little too late.2 -

Ok not read anything, tell me that WAS a pen on Leaburn, what’s the consensus?, looked a shocker, then rubbed in by the non corner decision, I don’t really want it but we have to be talking about the dreaded VAR don’t we, to at least dilute these awful fucking ref/lino decisions and make the fuckers accountable by suspensions based on performance, it’s becoming far too regular..😤😤😤😤4
-
Campbell was sadly lacking today .. lost count how many times he failed to get the ball across in good positions .. after excellent few weeks we gone back to the Campbell of last season sadly ..41

PWR
Highlight was seeing someone with a Pape Souare shirt at HT11 -
Yeah, it's ridiculous when someone just has nothing to offer their supposed team other than constant negativity and digs. Absolutely bizarre behaviour, you'd never catch anyone on here doing that!SELR_addicks said:1 goal in the last 4 games but Jones will spend his time making digs at ex-goalkeepers.
