This is the part i don't get. I was about to say that, although I hate that they always seem to put Neville on Man U games and Carragher on Liverpool games, I do feel Neville at least tries to show some impartiality, but for that Man City goal he just couldn’t help himself.DamoNorthStand said:Gary Neville crying about the decision is always worth a chuckle

On a side note though, how have Man U not tried to strengthen their defence all summer?
They spent 50m on a Chelsea reserve midfielder (Santos) but bought no defenders. I don't think a single one of their back 4 today would even get on the Arsenal bench.0 -

Enzo is interfering with the defender with his full length dive in an offside position so despite Haaland being onside the goal should've been disallowed.
The rules are clear and they have just put the rules on the screen.

See the difference with City being organised and defending on the edge of their area and only dropping to their six yard box when it goes out for a corner or if a united player can get down the flanks.
A master class in how to defend with 10 or 11 players.

I ain't no fan of man u but I don't understand these officials. I don't think they know about football and how it's played. If their not they surely should be talking and learning from coaches and players of what it is to play football so they would know that in this case Enzo would of course be effecting the other players around him.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

Isn’t the issue that the goal was given as offside as the linesman flagged thinking Harland was offside. It was subsequently found that Haarland wasn’t offside. Therefore the linesman had made an error so the goal was given. Do we really then want to go back and ref the game again to find another reason to rule the goal out? How far back into the move do you go? What if everything else was ok but a Man Utd player was fouled on the halfway line?
I don’t like VAR, I’m happy to accept the officials are sometimes wrong and make wrong decisions. I’d rather live with that than VAR intervene excessively.2
