    Several mentions in Brush Strokes, no doubt initiated by Karl Howman, Sandra to Jacko "Why do they call Charlton 'athletic'?...4-0!"

    And Jacko to Eric using football clubs as an analogy to picking a partner to stick with: "What made you choose Charlton to support?" "Because they are the greatest team in the world". "Yeah, but besides all that, of all the teams in the world how do you know they are the one for you and stick with them?"

    Also The Valley is used for exterior scenes in an episode of The Bill c.2007 where they are policing crowds of a random, unnamed team.

    Yes. Arthur Askey comedy about an engine driver (steam, naturally) who constantly tries to work his shifts and turns so that he can see his team's home games....despite being a "northern" film the team are Charlton Athletic and the film has footage of a home game at the Valley, shot in the 54-55 season I think.

    Does Zigger, Zagger count?

    Although the writer, Peter Terson, is a Geordie the plot is about two sides with closely adjoining grounds - the Reds and the Blues - and there is a mention in the dialogue of the Red's centre forward being Cliff Holton. Written in 1966 I've always thought Terson got the idea from the rivalry between young Charlton and Millwall fans. There was a 60's TV version of this.

    correct - it's when he goes to see the lorry driver's wife to find out what package he picked up for the general in Germany

    They changed the street name for the tv show - the taxi goes off woolwich church street, up church hill and along Greenlaw street to a house on the left - in the show its called battle of the Nile street

    Being a bit of a nerd I went up there and found the house - got some strange looks

    Sorry, I meant that the return fixture (CAWFC vs AFCR, at The Valley) may be covered?

    There was a Charlton flag shown on last week's episode of Grand Designs. it was flying on a beach in Cornwall.

    A very brief mention in Crow Girl in series 2 episode 5 (21 mins in) the word Charlton on a piece of newspaper by the vent on the wall in the flat

    Was just about to post that myself having just watched the episode in question. It’s flying on the beach at Polzeath. Anyone know why? Anyone on here responsible?
