Any recommendations for somewhere to grab a bite/pint before the game? Had a look on google maps and doesn’t look the most salubrious area 😂
The Dyche or The Bridge Bier Huis.

On a Saturday game during the season the cricket after the football is a must.

That said, the Burnley Miners Club is a 5 minutes walk from the ground is fantastic for a drink.
Yeah got a friend from Burnley who swears by this place for the local Bene n Hot. I’ll be heading there pre match to sample it.
Scheduled to work in Manchester Tuesday and Wednesday to make life easier.

Don't go in there if you have a mate that supports Wednesday ;)

The cricket club next to the ground is meant to be good, and accepts away fans.

Believe this is where we went a few years ago- SCP time. Think there was an offer of a fiver for peas, a pie and a pint. We forewent the free post match disco, though, as we had to get the train home with our three points.

Any intel on how many sold?

It’s a state secret. Donald Trump has said America is going to get the same big, beautiful Charlton Athletic system for protecting classified information and you are going to love it, it’s so good.

Irrelevant for this game as so many will have paid with no intention to go, just for the point. Heard several people talking about it in the pub before the game today

No different then to Millwall today up at Preston this afternoon

15 pounds a ticket and happy to pay it to have their 10 loyalty points on their account

  • I've got a spare ticket for this going free to any Charlton fan. Drop me a message and I'll send it over

About half as many as we have sold tickets would be my guess

Just spent the weekend in Seville and was at Real Betis 5-2 win over Osasuna today. Flying back tomorrow to make Burnley(a) and I feel like it’s going to be quite the comedown haha.
  • @aki2798...............See there were 65,000 at that Real Betis game,Barca,R.Madrid,Athletic also get
massive crowds every week but never thought of Betis as a top team...Atmosphere Good?

@CharltonE18 So Betis are redeveloping their stadium and are playing at Seville’s Olympic stadium known as La Cartuja. A good atmosphere from the ultras but most of the stadium eating popcorn West Ham style(ironic thing for me to say as a tourist who doesn’t speak a word of Spanish). The stadium should be too big for them but many in Betis’ fanbase are saying this is the best Betis team of all time so that’s likely why it’s full.

In terms of getting to the stadium and back do you plan to walk?

Spoke to the ticket office last week, maybe even the week before, and it was already over 600. Pretty decent.
How many of those 600 actually go, or have spent a tenner to up their points tally

I'm sure it's a thing with other clubs where they check if the ticket's been used before issuing loyalty points. I think it was Chelsea I heard were doing that, among others.

Charlton don’t do that. Had a ticket to the Cheltenham cup game but could not go as I had to take my dad to A and E as he was having severe side effects from medication post surgery. I still got the loyalty points however. I don’t think Charlton are that bothered about this type of stuff.

Maybe we should sell bogus £10 tickets at The Valley to away fans desperate for points. Could be a nice money earner  :D

The gits would turn up. Charlton is every away fans favourite trip don’t you know.

I went to Seville last year and did run past Betis, Sevilla grounds and over to La Cartuja

that Cartuja is such a bizarre thing, in a desolate area planned for an olympics that they never won and so the regeneration etc around it never happened. The stadium is ugly as, built on the cheap to "finish" it as they never got the olympics and it looks like a dead office block in Slough from outside!

Seville is a class place though and Betis (proper) and Seville stadiums closer to the city centre

Should have been changed to Watford away tonight and Burnley away on Saturday as soon as the fixtures came out, if not sooner than that. One simple fixture rearrangement would have made things much better for fans but the EFL and clubs clearly don’t care enough.

    Burnley cricket club

We're proud to be the only pub near Turf Moor which welcomes home and away fans together. Park the car then join us for a chat, pie and peas, a pint of real ale and whichever match is on Sky Sports.

We are open for all Burnley F.C. home games so there's no need to get in touch.

  • Thanks Clive.
    That'll do for me.
Your another unsung Charlton Life hero mate.
    Thanks for all you post.
