There's about 5 we could happily get shot of. Apter, Knibbs, Alli, Ouma, Costellofenaddick said:
Budget might be but we need the squad space to register playersMarcusH26 said:
I'd be hoping the budget is there for a Holsgrove type regardless of what the ownership situation is.fenaddick said:
The positive is it might free up space for a Chalobah style player to come in in January and we have 2 months to work out who that is. I notice Holsgrove has had a decent start to the season...MarcusH26 said:Just disappointing really stuck with him until Jan now and it's clear he's broken trust with Nathan which we know is very hard to regain.2 -

Imagine he works in your bar and there some shifts he just doesn't show up for, and he doesn't phone in sick either.sam3110 said:Has previous for it but instead of it being anything underhand or nefarious, it's probably a case of a young man (remember he's 22) taking the opportunity of being back home to touch base with his family before flying back to Europe.
Think there's a lot of people in life that like to pile on regarding things like this without taking into account the human beings behind the athletes
'as an employer, I quickly came to understand that there are two types of people in this world: There are the type of people who are going to live up to what they said they were going to do yesterday, and then there are people who are full of shit. And that’s all you really need to know. If you can’t be bothered to show up, why should anybody show up? It’s just the end of the fucking world.'4 -
honestly mush, are you on a wind-up?sam3110 said:
First thing we'd do is sit down with them, ask them for an explanation and see if there's anything we can do on our end to help and work out if there's a genuine issue or if they're just playing the system and fucking about.Chunes said:

Lots on here/online would skip that stage and sack them immediately without a moment's thought, clearly3 -
Sympathetic if it's a first offence. The fact he's done it before, been punished and gone to a new club to do exactly the same thing shows a clear lack of professionalism.Perhaps understandable if he's 16/17, at 22? Needs to grow up a bit but hopefully not here.9

They should have done, Nathan Jones when Ouma signed "He’s a player that we’ve monitored for a long, long time"CAFCsayer said:
And you'd already warned them that this can't happen again, as you'd heard he previously had a reputation for not turning up to work (which I'm sure people at the club did)Chunes said:

The again the Club pretty much says that about all our signings1 -
The audacity to do this when he’s been nothing but shit for us is admirable.11

I got a quick AI overview of fan views on him at both Slavia and Lech. Two things stand out. Here is a Slavia fan:fat man on a moped said:

“We wanted him so badly on two occasions, paid quite a lot for him, only to discover almost immediately in pre-season that it was a mistake.”
and a Legia fan:
"Ouma was a difficult player to assess definitively, acknowledging his conspicuous mistakes — poor touches, inaccurate passes and balls seemingly running underneath his foot — while also recognising that coach Niels Frederiksen had managed to rebuild his confidence and that Ouma had produced important performances, including against Legia Warsaw."
Rich Cawley seems fairly sure that we knew about his time at Lech and therefore his going AWOL and their reaction. But I wonder, does it extend to being able to call someone up and get a personal view on a player? We know it happens between managers in England all the time, but does it fall down when we are looking abroad? It shouldn't. Like everything else today's pro football world is far more globally connected than ever before. We wouldn't have go the truth out of Slavia, as they obviously want to offload him, at least for the season, but Lech, with a Swedish coach? Even now, it would be worth NJ having a chat with Mr Frederiksen, who almost certainly speaks excellent English.1 -
He reported back late with Elfsborg as well.PragueAddick said:

Don’t see it’s harsh to say Koumetio and Chalobah have been injured a lot.CAFCsayer said:
Think that's very harsh... Arthur, as you say, looks great. Mesik hasn't put a foot wrong and can play anywhere, Mac has been solid, Koumetio is class, Chalobah looks a different gravy (given, he is made of glass, so probably can be considered a poor signing if we don't get much more use out of him). Karlan hasn't lived up to what we were hoping, but doesn't look bad and has pitched in with a few goals, and was free.wmcf123 said:
It was unremarkable recruitment , largely due to the low budget . McNamara is ok, so is Grant . Koumetio will be good if he can stay fit . Mesik is fine . Chalobah, Ouma and Alli are or will be duds for a variety of different reasons , in my opinion. The goalkeeper is the real success .fenaddick said:
A mistake on one player is a damning indictment of all our recruitment?AberystwythAddick said:Damning indictment of our recruitment this yearEdit : Skipp is like a less good Coventry. The two together is not a good watch .
Ouma and Alli look duds and Skipp hasn't been great, but harsh on the rest0 -
His highlight reel makes him look like the forward playin g creative midfielder we desperately need. he wasnt very good in the first kenya game unfortunately, against a world class eritrea. Played like the legia fans comment above. Maybe needs to be managed delicately to get the best out of him?

To be fair any man of honour and dignity would be reluctant to be associated with Elfsborg wouldn’t they?ElfsborgAddick said:

He's a professional footballer..he is very lucky to have a job as a well paid athlete .He should do the fundamentals that are required of him0
-
Yeah fair comment, I don't say it ignoring possible outside issues. I definitely don't pull in professional footballer money but the hell that gets kicked up if one of us isn't where we are meant to be when we are on the clock is mental nowadays. Done under the guise of duty of care but thats a fallacy as much as I accept there has to be some kind of duty of care. I don't kmow why he was late back, if he was late back, if he made contact with someone at the club to let them know he would be late back. My instincts tell me that he probably hasn't. Kenya isn't that far away and footballers can't leave social media alone including African ones.lolwray said:He's a professional footballer..he is very lucky to have a job as a well paid athlete .He should do the fundamentals that are required of him

Quite often the case with players we've had over the last 20 years. Arrogant & shit, great comboLaddick01 said:The audacity to do this when he’s been nothing but shit for us is admirable.0
