Cambridge United away is a very dull game considering we went there twice last season.

A week before Cambridge kick off the season, and 2 weeks before we kick off, so you'd expect us to be putting out a reasonably strong side by that stage. Good for Cambridge, but perhaps surprising we're not facing L1 opposition.

Recently, the Welling 'friendly' has resulted in injuries to some of our top players. Tell Welling to go kick some other team round the park this close season

Should do the same with West Ham after Terry Naylor broke his leg in a pre season friendly

i'm sure in the 1-0 win there this season there was someone who went in a bit on Campbell? if he's still there and playing hope he behaves himself this time around, no more repeats of the Leaburn injury at Welling.

Nice little ground but a bit of a trot from the train station.

Walk to the city centre then a bus.

Well worth a visit and a great day out.

We be interesting to see who we play in our last PSF at the Valley.

Hopefully, someone more "interesting" than Portsmouth.
Maybe invite Inter or PSG depending on who wins on Saturday!!!! The worst outcome is that they tell us to do one.
After watching PSG the other day we should rescind the invite as the final score would be rivalling Arbroath 36 Bon Accord 0.

Why not go back to Slovenia and arrange to play Olimpija Ljubljana. It was a good bonding session last pre season and in a location where the player can focus on getting up to speed for the tough 25/26 Championship season.

A massive gap between the clubs now, considering that 2 summers ago it was L1 vs NLS (3rd vs 6th tier) and now it's 2nd tier vs 7th.
Is a good point. More likely to be a second string team possibly depending on other fixtures announced?
I think we play Dartford as part of the deal that our U21s play there.

And it's fairly early in pre season, so all about just getting used to being on the pitch again, rather than seriously working on tactics.

Does anybody know what ticket demand for the Dartford friendly at Princes Park on Saturday, July 12th is going to be like? Casually mentioned it to a few friends and now we seem to have a group of about 6 - 10 wanting to go (but as always actual numbers seem a bit "fluid" this far out from the actual date.)

Given Princes Park capacity is just under 4K I'm wondering If I should buy in advance or are we likely to be able to get in on the day?

Last season the attendance was 2,149 & previously in 2023 it was 2,800 if that's any help.

The Charlton team will be made up of academy players and U21 who are unlikely to make the match day 20 man Championship squad.
When we played Sevenoaks in the last pre season it was 2-2 and the Charlton team was made up of 16-18 year olds.
It was interesting seeing the sprint data the analyst was taking for manager Jason Pearce as it was the majority of his age group.

I went to Whyteleafe 18 years ago to see a CAFC U21 draw 0-0 and 17 year old Wagstaff played; no beard and was hardly shaving back then. Mark Kinsella was the manager of the team that day.

That's a seriously random place for a small Championship club to end up.

Believe Oxford have Indonesian investors , their record signing in January was an Indonesian international striker from Holland.

They are far smarter than Roland. My lad’s girlfriend’s family are all Oxford fans. The lad is a prospect but the benefits of his signing were immediate - the U’s social following and replica shirt sales went through the roof quickly. Indonesia have 280m+ population vs UK’s 65m+ and Premier League and British football is hugely poplar in the country. Smart money spinner…

Wouldn't have been much use for us. The 37 shirts we had left for sale would have been snapped up in seconds.
