Perhaps the player doesn’t wanted to be at Loftus Road. He has had his head turned by the prospect of playing at The Valley.10

Well that was certainly under the radar…🤔😜,another quality addition to the already rising stock of our Addicks team, mid table looks like it’s there for the taking…anything else a bonus…❤️🤍1

let him go? You’d have thought after last season they should want to use him.Do they have more significant financial challenges of their own ?QPR OS says he wanted to leave, and we know he only had 1 year left on his contract with them, so this was the ideal time to sell for a good fee.8 -
Interesting (and classy) statement from QPR. Sounds like Kelman wanted out and to us:
CEO Christian Nourry said: “Charlie moves on with our very best wishes.“Following an excellent season in League One with Leyton Orient, Charlie expressed a desire to move on.
“When it became clear Charlie did not want to extend his time with us, we have worked with him to achieve this transfer while also acting in the best interests of the football club.”
QPR thanks Charlie for his efforts throughout his time in W12 and wishes him every success in the future.

Imo, so far our best summer signing. Only 23 and still has his career ahead of him.
He will be great on bench to begin with. Like a hungry wolf when Charlton need an equaliser or a winner
Godden is 34, I can see him taking a bit of a back seat and helping to mentor Charlie from the off, and being the fresh legs off the bench for the most part
Personally, I always think a CF signings 1st league game should be starting from the bench.
He'll want to prove himself a bit more and will be eager when he gets told to warm up. Plus the valley will be in anticipation of it.
I didn't mean make him a squad player. He will likely be in the starting line up within 1st 3 league games anyway.0 -
What a lovely way to start a Sunday morning. We have taken to so many players over the last season or two to the point some of us will start concerning ourselves how our favourites will fit in or get the minutes they deserve - a lovely problem that… Cannot wait for the season to begin despite one or two more being on there way to us.2
-
Looks a cracking signing on paper. Here’s hoping he can make the step up and be a top championship player for us.
Cannot criticise our recruitment at all this summer. 8 signings in already with two weeks until season kicks off.5 -

Another statement signing.
The owners clearly have ambition and have pumped in the big money to try and achieve this.Whatever happens this season Friedman, Brener and Co have done the club proud 👏39 -
Can't be sure yet but such is football. Likely a big step up for him, and others. QPR effectively got a refund on the Bonne purchase anyway.2

A warm welcome, Charlie Kelman to SE7.
Have a very good feeling he will go down as a bit of a club hero when it's done. I think he's found his feet, and we have picked him up at the right time (similar to when Coventry picked up Godden)
A massive thank you to the people behind the scenes spending the money. There are plenty of clubs who don't get this feeling as fans, and just watch their club sink into nothingness (we are familiar with this feeling), these owners are doing what they can to ensure our best odds of survival, and that's all I can ask for as a Charlton fan.23 -

Welcome Charlie
Very happy. Any idea why this has been announced on Sunday morning? It might just be because there is no reason not to announce it today.

Hard working goal scorer, what’s not to love? Massive competition for Leaburn and TC should only help their development too6

What a way to wake up on a Sunday morning, wasn’t expecting this announced until Monday 😎

It's the sort of signing that we have to make, we can't compete with the big boys in this league, and splash 10 mil on 1 player. He's got the attributes NJ loves, and he found his scoring boots last season. It may take a while for him to adjust t to the league, we have to be patient with the lad. Welcome Charlie!3

I must say. I'm a little bit more excited and optimistic about this signing than the gass one.
Cmon Charlie boy, bang them in.1 -
Quality signing, all the best Charlie boy0

Not sure I’m comfortable with all this well run football club stuff going on right now. Where’s the Charlton I know!! Good signing.8

Great signing, there's nothing not to like about this. We're being spoilt.4

Panic signing to cover up yesterday’s average performance away at a L2 club? 🤷🏻♀️🤣🤣
Welcome, Charlie - very much looking forward to watching our new Addick.6 -
Another great signing. All that's needed now is for NJ to enter MasterChef get out his mixing bowl and turn these ingredients of a squad into some kind of winning formula. He is now going to have to earn his reputation as a top manager all over again. Last season is now forgotten. It's a squad in his image and he needs to get it right. I hope the fans start come along and turn the home and away games into a party atmosphere.1

So refreshing to have a window with signings you can get excited about.Unlike previous seasons when we were looking in the bargain buckets out side of Poundland.Welcome CK, this could be the start of something big.3
-
Maybe it’s the optimism after the ridiculous form we’ve been in this calendar year, but this kind of signing makes me feel like we might be dark horses to sneak into the play offs this year, similar to how we almost snuck in after our first season back up under Powell.Good time to be an addick!1
-
Wow ! brilliant signing and well done to NJ and the Board. If we can sign another playmaker in the middle, then we will have cover across the spine of the team. COYR!!0
-
Any idea on the fee?
I know officially it'll be undisclosed but feel like this could be a near record signing for us.0 -
Here's one I hope, really hope I'm proven wrong over. I don't think he is the right fit for us and I cannot believe I'm saying that regarding last seasons golden boot winner.
He has absolutely really improved and knows where the goal is.
Even so, I'm still in cold water shock we have got so many decent signings done so early and that the owners are backing the manager.
What I will say is Charlie Kelman is only going to get better and I trust Nathan Jones, I've never wanted to be proven wrong more1 -
Absolutely vile and I’m loving it!5
