Always good to sign a striker who knows where the goal is, esp if he was the League's top goalscorer last season.
No idea how or where he will fit in, but that job is down to Nathan. But at least we've moved on from thinking we were only an injury away from having to play Hylton or Ahadme.
1 week ago I posted on here that I didn’t believe that we were really in for Charlie Kelman. I also said that I didn’t think that Charlie was a Nathan Jones type of player.
Well today’s announcement just shows how much I know.
Sorry Charlie for ever doubting you.
Looking at the YouTube clip where it shows every goal he scored for Orient last season, It really shows that with the right service he is a superb finisher.
Let us hope that our team can also provide the service to him, and Charlie can be as lethal for us as he was for the O’s.
Some of the very best players in League One, stiffened with experienced Championship signings. My only concern - added to a promoted team, there's quite a lot of new signings with no experience of this division, a bit like playing too many raw youth players together in the 1st team.
even if we did go down, you would put us as one of the favourites to come straight back up, good chance of keeping the majority of the players who have all done well at league one level.
this is a team for the future not just for now potentially
Charlie leaving and a change in philosophy or the owners on a high from Wembley still and getting caught up in the Wrexham style dream?
Neither.
They trusted Nathan to get us promoted with a smaller squad which was fitter than anyone else. I believe the plan would always have been to spend more once we arrived in the Championship.

Wembley was an eye opener for them. Not so much the performance, but the level of support made them realise just how much potential existed for the club

I suspect you correct there. They would have looked around Wembley listening to the noise knowing that we could have sold more tickets !
I hope they hear an enormous Valley roar when the team comes out to play Watford. This ownership group has ambition and for once for us the funds to make it happen without bullshit so we need to keep showing them what they are investing in
Oh yes. That is proper good news to wake up to. Get Knibbs in as well and there's both quality and energy added to this attacking line up. A few comments about partnership with Godden, but most excited about partnership with Leaburn.

Great signing. Can’t wait to see how he fits in and very hard to know NJ’s preferred starting line up with our 4 forwards. I expect Godden may be mananged more this year, hence needing 4. Leaburn’s fitness is also uncertain given he’s only just returning
Hopefully they’ll spur each other on competition wise

You are spot on,if only Roland had seen that a few years back and invested the money,we would not have spent all these years in league 1.This club can easily get 20000+ per game, and be among the front runners.
We have competition for places all over the pitch,Nathan now has the problem of keeping them all happy, but there is no room for sentiment in football ,how many clubs have remained loyal to a promoted side only to find themselves in trouble at the higher level,I think Curbs commented on this after our relegation the first time we got to the premier league. If the players have the right attitude instilled in them, they will strive to get the shirt and keep it,exciting times ahead.

You’d expect this week I think to see who we let go / put out on loan.
This is a totally different feeling with Ambition seeping through from top to bottom.
The owners, manager, coaches, deserved to be backed for finding a squad who's aim this season is to establish itself back in the Championship after the 5 wilderness years in the mediocre League 1.
Give the players time to gel and try being supporters and not full time critics; out of the 8 signings so far they won't all come off and some will play a bit part. But we can all see the club is trying to move forward after the stagnation decade or longer.

But, hey-ho ...... it's all very promising.

I said it would be a Sunday morning announcement because one of the other 7 signings was the same ?
Latest score:

The board and owners have shown a lot of faith and quite rightly after achieving promotion, much bigger test this upcoming season.
Fingers crossed it all seamlessly falls into place. Certainly a lot to be excited about.
Hopefully they’ll spur each other on competition wise
