Leicester are fcked. 8 points behind with 3 games left and Blackburn to play last game of the season. They are gone 👋
Think if they lose Tuesday night at home to Hull it'll be confirmed.

Portsmouth were awful against Leicester yesterday, were fortunate not to concede a penalty, and then their winner could easily have been ruled out for handball on another day.

Even if they draw. They will be 7 points behind Blackburn with 2 games remaining.

Fine margins. Were lucky to win yesterday, and last weekend they got battered at Middlesbrough and won with a 97th minute deflected goal.

Ended up with 5 more points than the performances deserved from those 2 games, and are now effectively safe.

Absolutely... Just other than the Ipswich game, I wouldn't go as far to say that Portsmouth's performances have matched their points.

Pompey rode their luck yesterday but that was their 3rd win in a row and the 3-1 wins at CAFC and Millwall in the same week were very impressive.
The table that matters is after 46 games and IF Charlton aren't in the bottom 3 the 1-0 win against Sheffield United when they had 9 players for the 2nd half was a real bonus 3 points.

Well done Sonny Carey for that goal early in the 2nd half  👏🏻

I meant us specifically. Our points return matches our performances over the last 6 games. Bar the home game where we missed a hatful of chances (Bristol City?) I'm not sure we can claim to have been hard done by with 3 points from a possible 18

    Oxford- Unfair pen conceded
    Norwich- Clear Pen not given
    Bristol City- Keeper howler
Watford- Hit post, JRC missing 2 clear cut
    Preston- Hit post
    Wednesday- Hit post+Bar keeper howler

you can always argue do we do enough to deserve to win games, but that completely discredits Jones style to win games in the moments when you don’t play well and some of the players are letting him down in that respect

Ipswich playing Boro in a noon kickoff. Boro have been terrible recently, but their biggest problems are against defensive teams, so this game might suit them more.

You're simply highlighting single moments in  matches rather than looking at each game as a whole.

Just because we hit the post against Preston doesn't mean we deserved a draw in that match. Dodgy penalty or not, we did not deserve a win at Oxford.

To be clear, I am absolutely discrediting Jones's style here, particularly over the last 6 games. That's my whole point.

Ipswich will be annoyed if they can’t get a win

Boro have been awful lately - I think they’re heads are gone despite still being in with a shout of 2nd

I’m highlighting key moments which is exactly how Jones sets up, do the basics (don’t make silly errors), restrict opposition to minimal high quality chances and take ours when they come.

By discrediting that style of football as legitimate your basically saying no team deserves to get anything from games unless they create more chances or play expansive open football.

Watford had 31 shots 10 on target and I couldn’t name you 1 quality chance they had, we had about 5 shots but about 3 big chances. Do we do enough to win games probably not have we had opportunities to win those games or very least not lose yes

Need an Ipswich win here so in the unlikely event we take something off them on Wednesday, it doesn’t give Millwall a sniff of automatics

I know they’ve spent a load but it’s scary watching Ipswich. Play a different game to us.

A lot of these Champ sides make it look like a different sport. Makes you realize what a bunch of cloggers we have currently.

That 3 behind Azon probably cost Ipswich around £35m

Ipswich look susceptible to a quick break from defence to attack, so piece of cake Wednesday, you watching NJ?

Really think that it'll be Southampton that gets second now
The Championship table is bonkers this year though, four teams fighting for 2nd separated by a point
    10th > 16th separated by a point
Could have had a scenario yesterday where 18th > 21st were all on 49-pts

Not sure our quick break routine of running forward 2 metres stopping, turning around and passing it back to Bell who then passes to Jones who then passes back to bell who then passes to TC who then passes back to bell who then passes it back to jones who then passes back to bell who then passes it back to jones who then passes it to Clarke who then passes it back to jones who then passes it back to bell etc etc etc until eventually one of them smacks it high up the pitch aimlessly giving the ball back to the opponent rinse and repeat

Isn't that pretty much how we beat them at their place?
