Didn't think we had a chance. Massive win.1

That strength in depth makes me feel a lot of confidence for this season.7 -
Poll on X for man of the match which Bree is currently winning. Without the assist, which was very good, I wasn't overly impressed.6

Fantastic performance. Thought Doc was incredible4

Saw some concerns about Bree playing instead of Apter but there's Bree in the 91st minute appearing in the box to create a goal. Jones rated Bree enough from his time at Luton to bring him up to the Premier League with him and the Jones Luton teams had more traditional wingbacks who could attack and defend. We pivoted to an inverted WB on the right mostly because Ramsay for all his talents couldn't offer enough going forward. Bree is an incredible signing for us11

I thought the last minute goal was particularly pertinent.
Chris Wilder was extremely close to becoming Charlton's manager in May 2016; he was scheduled for a press conference but was intercepted by Sheffield United officials, leading him to withdraw from the Charlton talks and take the job at his boyhood club instead. Wilder himself confirmed that the deal with Charlton was "more or less done" before he was approached by the Sheffield United board and ultimately decided to join the Blades.
Huh up yours!11 -

Main priority this season is staying up so 50 points is the target.
When the fixtures came out I think pretty much everyone would have settled for 8 points from the opening 6 games .
As the season progresses I can only see us getting stronger.

Was agitated by Sky writing us off, saying we’re “struggling”, and that’s after a week of folk going on about Wilder coming back making the result a certain defeat..
Yet it was everything but that. That first half was the exact kind of performance that gets us noticed, it was a fantastic half! How we didn’t score was beyond me but there’s so many positives again to take from it
Second half was definitely harder but overall I felt we contained their presses excellently and towards the end we showed our strength and grit, this is the Charlton I absolutely fucking love.Would have been happy with a 0-0, but I’m over the moon with that result! 1-0 flatters Sheffield United too, Wilder’s got a lot of work to do.17 -

The match thread made grim reading until the last few minutes, but many thanks as ever to all who contributed. Even ⛳️ ie.1

The presenter on Soccer Saturday was really annoying. Every time he went to the game it was: ‘Chris Wilder in his third stint with the club up against struggling Charlton.’
Surely Sheffield United are struggling more than us?56 -
What a fucking win. Absolute bedlam in the away end when the goal went in.
Bell and Carey are the signings of rhe summer. Unreal players

I never saw any outcome other than a home win. Despite this being their 8th defeat on the bounce!
Superb reward for those trekking up there today. Last week is forgotten about.

It's clear to me and a few other lifers that Kelman has the ability but the service to him is absolutely dire.
Just running at teams with TC feeding off scraps must be soul destroying for the lad. In six league games his average playing time is only an hour!
I really hope that Charlie gets some support perhaps from Knibbs if Carey gets pulled otherwise I'm dumbstruck as to why Nathan ever bought him.
On another note an unbelievable victory against all the odds and so pleased for the travelling fans at a place where winning hasn't happened often.5 - Sponsored links:

The conditions were terrible but we defended well. You got the feeling they got nervous towards the end and a goal would come despite the ref!2

I like Olaofe and of course was delighted with the winner, but he's lucky that went in because it was actually a poor finish considering half the goal was gaping and he hit it straight at the keeper.24

Classic Nathan Jones performance. Keep it tight at the back and look to pounce on tired legs. Great shift from everyone and though Bree impressed on full debut4

What a result for the traveling faithful. Like many others I thought the timing was going to work against us re: Wilder’s return, and that would’ve been in keeping with the season given we were unlucky not to win last week and at get a draw against Leicester
for me, this just shows the character we have in this squad and team. Superb. It’s a massive result because defeat would’ve put real pressure on us next week as doubts may have started to creep in, but the players and Jones deserve massive praise
Love it. We have our club back. Teams won’t want to play us this season. If we can keep this up across the season it will be above and beyond expectation15 -

Is everything really so rosy atm that fucktards have to make up shit. Are they expecting a 6’5” big lad to sprint about like a whippet. All this ‘lazy’ bollox is grinding my gears!!Bottom line….. we have a lot more ball in the final third with ML in the side4

Fantastic deserved win, absolute carnage in the away end but that was a classic Jones performance a masterclass smash and grab.
He got the selection and tactics absolutely spot on even if Kelman was fairly ineffective again but allowed the late subs that made the difference
We needed that win, a point would have been great but feel a lot more comfortable that we will be ok this season and feel we can kick on now with some very winnable games
Well done all today having a nice can of Madri to celebrate on the train back to London 👍👍13 -
Knibbs made a big difference too. Excellent result - we battered them in the last 10 when I thought we’d decided to sit tight for a point!16
