I thought bree started poor but got into the game and was MOTM by the end. Could see him with ramsay on that side. Sorry apter!

    Tough game again for kelman.

Great performance from all really. Bell is outstanding, although was worried after the yellow!

yet managed to moan for 90mins on the match thread? 🧐
And then claimed he told everyone so when we scored. Not the full ticket

We play Saturday then Tuesday, I expect he’ll start at least one them.

    Great problem to have.

Ramsay and Apter for home Saturday, Burke and Bree for away Tuesday. The latter two are Champ/Premier players. Apter and Ramsay are League One stepping up
  • Great result. Not been able to follow the match closely, as away and travelling, but wasn't expecting that at all. I expected a tight game, but for someone like Hamer to make the difference,  so delighted to be proved wrong  :)

It's the sort of away win I have been expecting though, if not today. Keep it tight, then bring on more attacking options at the end. At this level, our strength is our defensive shape and discipline,  so it makes sense to build on it.

Just on that, the League One players who have stepped up I would say, Jones, Ramsay, Coventry, TC. Those who have not yet, Carey, Apter, Kelman, Miles, Olaofe. Not that they have been poor, just not made it yet. Doc already Champ level and showing it.

As exceptionally disciplined, well structured and determined performances go, you won’t see much better than that. Our work and tactical nous out of possession was first rate and, to a man, we defended our goal resolutely throughout.

The first half was a fairly tepid affair, which suited us just fine as we quietened the crowd. The only real moment of danger that I can recall was Hamer’s curling shot just over. Kelman and TC screwed a couple of efforts wide on the break and, shortly before half-time, Lloyd Jones’ header from a fine Coventry cross drew an excellent save from Cooper.

Sheffield Utd started the second half with a bit more intent but, aside from Josh Edwards’ excellent block from Tyrese Campbell, we contained them fairly comfortably and Kaminski was untroubled. We finished the game the stronger and looked the more likely winners as the game moved into the closing stages. United’s fragility began to show and, after they conceded possession in the final third, Leaburn drew a save from Cooper. We were not, however, to be denied and Bree showed great control and composure to play in Tanto for a deserved winner.

A big shout out to Bree and Burke who got through the 90 odd minutes, whilst Bell, Jones and Edwards also defended extremely well. In midfield, Coventry and the Doc worked like Trojans and I thought it was another fine performance from the Doc, who always finishes games strongly. Up front, TC gave Godfrey (he of 2 England caps !) and his colleagues plenty of problems and provided us with an outlet, with Charlie Kelman again subdued. We were more effective and dangerous when Miles Leaburn entered the fray.

The cherry on the cake for Nathan Jones was that one of his final two substitutes, Harvey Knibbs, played a part in the winner, with the other, Tanto, stroking home his first Charlton goal following Bree’s moment of quality.

Three precious points to move us up the table and inspire further belief in this highly committed group of players. A safe journey home to the travelling faithful. Looking forward already to Blackburn and a 3 o’clock kick-off at The Valley.

A longer clip of the goal, taken from someones telly so less good but shows the smart work of Bree

Tanto looks surprised he scored. Did he think he was offside.......or that we finally played a ball to feet inside the box 😂😂😂😂
He was just playing it cool while the other players were going mental 😎

More posts about you than about the actual game, very odd.

Two points from the playoff spots.
Six points from the relegation zone.
What an important win that was. Morale booster. Loved how three subs played a part in the goal, and very happy for Tanto. Bree’s assist was excellent as well. He oozes class [sorry].
Just before the goal I told my wife that this is where they get the winner, and I meant the Blades.

Cracking result. It's really good to be looking up rather than down the table again.

Kelman needs games and goals. Perhaps one of our local non-league sides could use him until New Year. It is not like a junior. He would not be going to gain experience, just to bang in goals to boost his confidence.

Game changed completely once Leaburn came on. Their defence was terrified of him. He does not look fit enough to play for more than 45 minutes but he will never get fully match fit playing 20 or 25 mins per game.

  • I like Olaofe and of course was delighted with the winner, but he's lucky that went in because it was actually a poor finish considering half the goal was gaping and he hit it straight at the keeper.
Similar to the one Kaminski let in at QPR, I think it was the pace of the ball that done him.

Fantastic result and an excellent gritty performance. Glad I didn't have to rely on the match thread. I was worried for 80 minutes but I wasn't complaining about anyone or anything. Nobody under-performed, although I was a bit worried about Bree early on.

I'm with @Taxi_Lad about the Miles critics, once again he gave us much more of an ability to keep the ball upfield as soon as he replaced Kelman, and it was his clever flick that made the goal possible.

Glad also I don't have to put up with Sky. "Struggling" ??? Absolutely fuck off. We have now consigned the Blades to the equivalent of an 18 point deduction but with six games less to make it up. They're not "struggling". They''re in deep shit. I have nothing against them but they are a parachute club. Their owners are clearly twats and deserve the massive backlash that is coming their way.

Doc. A captain's performance. I'm sorry I doubted you. Thank you for making my weekend.
