I think we need Bree back personally.

His experience and general stability in that role is invaluable.
Allows strength in depth on that right side also so we don’t end up how we have on the left.

Still think we need a permanent starting left back and a midfielder who is head and shoulders above what we have atm.
I did not think he was that good. A other o e who does not seem to know how to win a tackle.

Luton looking to offload Tom Holmes

strange because he was incredibly highly rated a few years back (£5m bracket) but seems to have lost his way since his peak.  At 25 he is a decent age and probably fits Curbs’ criteria of yesteryear of being “hungry and angry”.
we need bodies in defence and I’m not sure how much he’d want but maybe getting him playing might be sufficient incentive to him.
He has recently had a spell on the sidelines but was recalled/returned from loan at Rotherham so might be in the same position as Zach Mitchell in that he can't play for another team this season.

    Just a thought

    Roussillon was hungry

"EXCL: Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic are among several League One clubs chasing a loan move for Charlton winger Rob Apter.

Blackpool want him back, Rotherham are interested.

    #bwfc #wafc #utmp"
If we let him go without a replacement then Jones might as well go now . Not that he’s played him much ,  for some bizarre reason .

Someone at our end needs to give their head a wobble if they think that its a good idea to loan Apter out, feel for the bloke, he needs a chance to show what he can do. We all saw glimpses of it in August, the boy can play ffs

This ^ would be absolutely bizarre management to loan out someone that's actually got some creativity.

Apter goes on loan, probably without being replaced.
    TC gets injured.
    Then what?

It's crazy with the humiliation of Saturday that the club haven't given us anything to get our hopes up. Even leaking something to the press about a target would be something. They will wait until the last day to try and get someone in and miss out due to paperwork not being submitted on time (again)

Presumably we'll only loan out fringe players if we can bring in better first.

I think history doesn’t hold much weight these days.  Of those clubs listed by Leuth, it’s about who can offer bigger wages.  I think the majority of them can

He is literally the most sensible option for us.

A player with bags of championship experience, who knows what Jones demands and wants from a team and can play that sort of football. Can cover cb rb and rwb roles at a decent level.

You build a successful team of the backs of players like this.

Arrogance to think we could get better at this point

Be happy to have him back, especially if over his groin issues.

Don't have the knowledge or grasp of technology.
Have a feeling in my water that something happens today though.
  • IMO CHARLTON HAVE A BIGGER PROBLEM Is there a management split happening - Rodwell with strange signings? Rous joined and then went after he filled his face on spam egg and chips 🍟 Nathan apparently falling out with players club captain Doherty frozen out of the squad and why hasn’t a dynamic forward been brought on in games - buying players isn’t the answer - is NJ’s stubbornness of back 3 with wingbacks the only way ???
Hylton coaching apprenticeship isn’t clearly isn’t working, we need experience here  ! 5 corners against Derby when they had 10 men and we stick 5 forwards in the box hoping for a ricochet!!!

Round pegs in square holes !!!

Adapting with the players you have (which are talented) and changing formation and strategy

TRANSFERS IS NOT JUST THE ANSWER

Only big head clubs trying to be the big "I Am" leak out who they're after

And nobody leaves it till the last day to start getting someone in, how many more times does it need to be said that there's a lot more to a transfer than a quick phone call on "day 31"

Anybody that we get will have been planned long ago, its just that its also down to the player and other club possibly trying to get a replacement in too, that's why there are always loads of last minute deals involving loads of clubs because its only then that they finally know what the best offers out there are.

Is it telling that the rumoured clubs for Apter are all up north closer to his home of Liverpool? Could this be something he and his agent has pushed for these clubs and leaked. Could the player be pushing more for the move as he's not happy here/wanting promised minutes compared to Jones completely wanting him out? Just thinking bigger picture...

It will say a lot for me about Jones if we let Apter go. We genuinely have such little quality on the ball I can’t for the life of me see how this is a good move unless someone like JRS is incoming and we need to free up wages. I don’t think we can defend our way out of relegation trouble now, we are going to need to go win some games with a more positive approach in the key relegation battles.

Conor Coady signing on loan according to Peter O’Rourke.
Not sure what he’s like now but he was decent in the past.
  • We have agreed a deal to take Conor Coady on loan according to Peter O’Rourke

Probably have to offload Apter if we want Bree in as no more money available

Very good back in his Wolves days, but poor since. Wrexham have been way better since dropping Coady after 5 games this season.

Coady feels a bit meh. Experienced but would be concerned about a lack of pace
