Lots of experience but just sounds like an older, slightly better version of gillesphey (ie. Very slow).HamSollins said:We have agreed a deal to take Conor Coady on loan according to Peter O’Rourkehttps://x.com/sportspeteo/status/2016131952009437462?s=461 -
Old head with tons of experience, good communicatior, I’d be more than happy with him next to me in the trenches. What’s his injury record like and can he hit the ground running?mart77 said:Conor Coady signing on loan according to Peter O’Rourke.
Not sure what he’s like now but he was decent in the past.4 -
And has a very small injury history...enter CAFC...5
-
think this is very much a standards and leadership type signing14
-
Coady is right footed but I think he's quite comfortable in the middle of a back 3 as well as the right side3
-
Wonder if he’s going to cover Lloyd, who really shouldn’t be playing7
-
Coady runs in waist-high treacle. He makes Gillesphey look like Usain Bolt.22
-
Really hope we don't loan our Apter, and if we don't, really want to see him play. But then suppose if NJ aint going to play him at all then whats the point in keeping him.0

What a signing1

Coady suggests to me that Lloyd’s ankle isn’t great3

He has no league minutes since September, are we opening up a retirement home here?6
-
The one real positive is that he’s a proper leader5

Scrape… barrel.4
-
Alternative to Lloyd Jones, or to play with him in a back four?1
-
Probably find out Burke is injured again.2

Should suit us perfectlyChunes said:Coady runs in waist-high treacle. He makes Gillesphey look like Usain Bolt.

Cart horse doesn’t do him justice. He’s been atrocious when I’ve seen him play this season0
-
Unless he's also in to cover Cov at CDM too?1

Can he be slower than Gillesphey or Burke?MarcusH26 said:Coady feels a bit meh. Experienced but would be concerned about a lack of pace

Can he be a modern day Jorge Costa
Doesn't have pace but we badly need a leader and some more experience and he has tons of that.
On paper I'd say that's pretty decent

Sounds very much like the kind of signing you make when it's the last week of the window and the alternative is not signing anyone at all. Reeks a bit of a Gunther type, ambling around without much in the way of motivation.1
-
Good player but another who hasn’t played many minutes this season. Big wages so wonder what % we will be paying0
-
Wouldn’t be shocked if we were selling LJ tbh.6
-
Oh dear. Conor Coady feels like a desperate move.
And perhaps suggests Lloyd is injured.
It also does nothing to address the yawning chasm of quality in the squad.5 -
Coady was embarrassingly bad for Wrexham earlier this season. I’m more positive than most on here but that’s not a good signing at all7
-
Coady will be delighted though, nice and close to the BBC for all his 5 Live appearances2
-
Not sure on this one, yes he brings great experience and leadership and I like him but looked past it early in the season for Wrexham. I guess we’re in the boat of having to try something.0
