I’m a bit worried at how effective Coady will be at LWB based on all these comments about his legs26

There's absolutely no way we are paying all of his wages nor is he becoming our highest earnerBenHaimandBikey said:

Helping Wrexham out by taking him off the books for them.
But hey, it's a player we've all heard of and he used to be good and saves the faff of trying to find someone good.3 -
Coady WAS one of their biggish money and name signings. And dropped after 5 games because they were struggling.Rothko said:
As for the start of the season, Wrexham full stop were poor, and they've changed the shape and spent big to get them out of it, putting the blame on Coady seems a bit weird.
Currently in the middle of the back 3 (which was Coady's position) they have Dan Scarr, who came in from Plymouth in 2024.0 -
It was men against boys Saturday and we lacked physicality and leadership, this should solve that. His legs might have gone but we hardly play open, expansive football, so he should do a job.13

I just started singing, ‘ the thigh bones connected to the…’ off the back of that post😂🤷🏻♂️Bailey said:
It suggests to me that there is a concern about Ramsay's ankles, knees hips, head, none of them working in unison, the past few weeks.fenaddick said:Coady suggests to me that Lloyd’s ankle isn’t great2 -
I don't mind him signing to be a leader and emergency cover should several CB's get injured at the same time, but if he's here to improve our defense, I'm suddenly very worried about our ability to bring in good players this week.1

And is he right footed....but has often played on the left sidecabbles said:I’m a bit worried at how effective Coady will be at LWB based on all these comments about his legs0 -
Coady is shit? This is a player that has got full England caps. When was the last time you saw him play? He obviously is not as good as he was but to just say he is shit is not on.arny23394 said:
What an inane post. We are very likely to go down unless we sign some decent players - Coady is shit so obviously people aren’t going to be thrilled about him joining.Gravesend_Addick said:We need signings......

Classic Charlton Life14 -
Sorry mate, I was informed last week this type of post can’t be issued until 250 posts without a rumour, I learned my lesson😂sillav nitram said:122 new posts FFS!
If you want to talk about everything under the sun, other than Charlton rumours. Can you please start a new thread titled, Bollocks, Made Up and I don't know anything but want to look Good and ITK + Everything Under the Sun Here, to also include I'm an armchair manager and know more than NJ, I also have inside knowledge, that their have been bust ups between manager and players, he's lost the dressing room etc., because I'm the all knowing oracle. And tranfer your every 60 seconds posts, endless and incessant updates to that thread, please.😸1 -

Trying not to be critical of everything the club does at the moment, but, this isn’t filling me with joy. Two things clear:
1. Good chance L Jones out for the next game or two as the only position Coady can play is central of a back 3 with two defensive wing backs
2. N Jones is doubling down formation wise9 -
I’ve read the same and it’s a concern.Chris_from_Sidcup said:Some glowing reports from Wrexham fans:'Great leader yes, but way to slow for the Championship.''Has to go down as the worst decision Parky’s made in five years. I suspect they’ve considered that they went down the ‘best of League 1’ route in the summer and are now (if rumour has it) sending two of them back to their clubs.
So Coady is the other end of that sliding scale in the ‘experienced’ category. There is of course a third option - sign quality Championship players.
But it seems ever more apparent that we can’t afford them.2 -
When we are actually good (it’s been a while), our whole game plan is about pushing high up the pitch and pressing. This is the worst style to use Coady in because he’s not that good in the air and he’s really slow so can easily get caught out in a high lineJ BLOCK said:It was men against boys Saturday and we lacked physicality and leadership, this should solve that. He’s good on the ball, which we really struggled with at the back against Millwall, so that might be why we’ve wanted to add him in?1 -
If Bell is back soon, then a back 3 of him, Jones and Coady surely has to be an improvement on recent games?ElliotCAFC said:I don't mind him signing to be a leader and emergency cover should several CB's get injured at the same time, but if he's here to improve our defense, I'm suddenly very worried about our ability to bring in good players this week.

We can't bring in loans just because they're a 'good character.'4
-
I really don’t think we want to see Coady playing as an outside centre back, he’s too slow and not comfortable enough defending wide areas. From what I can remember he’s basically only ever been used in the middle of a back 3, which is obviously where we need JonesChris_from_Sidcup said:

It's the opposition's open expansive football that we have to worry about though.J BLOCK said:It was men against boys Saturday and we lacked physicality and leadership, this should solve that. His legs might have gone but we hardly play open, expansive football, so he should do a job.5 -
Realistically i'm not sure who people were expecting us to sign if we're not going to be spending much (or anything at all) on transfer fees.
PL quality players will be out of our price range or go on loan to high flying championship clubs.
Championship quality players would generally be kept by their clubs.
Top end league one quality would cost a fee and wouldn't be loaned.
Overseas players would be a gamble.
We've managed to find one of the (probably very few) players with decent experience at this level and above whose club had enough cover to move him on.5 -
I actually like this, we were missing bollocks against Millwall, and leaders. He genuinely can't be any slower than Gillesphey, and we are desperate, so this is the best I can probably hope for.
It is a stop gap signing. We still need much more, but it will do for now.22 -

Wrexham mate of mine says he is terrible. Leicester fans say the same.7
-
Happy with Coady personally.4
-
Don’t know how these things work but seen a Wrexham fan saying they desperately need to free up a registration spot and getting rid of Coady does that for them so would expect them to move on Coady without us covering too much of the wages0
-
We need quick virile young studs with loads of spunk!!, not dry shrivelled up slow walnut bollox players!!! C’mon Charlton FFS!!!🤪2
-
If this is cover for Lloyd then great the poor bloke has not had a break. If this is supposed to be the answer to our Macca problem not great. Coady is a great leader and can probably do a job in the middle of a back three but he’s too slow to cover LCB.0
-
Great leader and is an upgrade on Burke. Don’t know what people expect. We are in big trouble of going down, who would really risk coming here at this moment in time
in a dog fight to stay up and he ticks the boxes to help. May not be pretty but have to some how get over the line.8 -
I promise you, he is slower than Gillesphey!Braziliance said:I actually like this, we were missing bollocks against Millwall, and leaders. He genuinely can't be any slower than Gillesphey, and we are desperate, so this is the best I can probably hope for.

Positive spin, I have long thought we would be utterly screwed (even more than currently), if Lloyd Jones was injured for any period and we need suitable cover. Coady would provide that.
Negative spin, he's coming in to replace Ramsey on the right side of defence and Ramsey is off to Middlesbrough to cover some of our losses as the owners have pulled out.
You pay your money, you make your choice!
Good luck to AMB, longest serving player I think, came to the UK at a very young age and has literally put his head on the line regularly for us over the years. Hasn't deserved some of the stick he has had from fans. Decent fella.14
