@mart77 is someone I definitely wouldn’t dismiss anything he shares.

Some of you are just f***ing rude to be honest.

It’s a rumours thread, to discuss rumours.
Cheers Dan, like I say I hope it’s wrong but I know others on here have heard similar.
Apologies Mart, but for the life of me I can't see this as a goer and as much as I'm not in 'Coady is shit camp' I don't see him as a replacement for Lloyd Jones. We heard the rumour about about Ramsay a week or so back and that seemed a wild one, but this one? So we get rid of our Captain and our vice Captain in the same window ???? what does that do to moral in the dressing room, if according to rumours there is any left.
Not at the same level in playing quality by a country mile but it’s happened before when both Captain and Vice Captain have been sold in a January window

    Clarke, Ramsay
    Burke, Sichenje
    Jones, Coady
    Bell, Gillesphey
    Chambers, NEW

Is that enough to keep us up?

I'm guessing re Apter that Jones has been told he can bring in new faces on the condition that those who have not been playing regularly go and free up some wages and a place in the squad. Might be the same for Olaofe.
I don't think this necessarily signals the end of Apter at Charlton - it's clear he needs games and he isn't going to get them with us for the rest of this season.

This picture is the sort of thing that a millwall supporter composes.  I've had pics passed on to me on WhatsApp that are obviously pictures doctored by AI that have come from millwall somewhere .

Notice the tone of the text below it.

Ramsey signed for Millwall before last Saturday anyway, maybe the Kenyan fella is replacing him at RCB?
That’s who he reminded me of with his gadget legs in those highlight clips. Before getting excited I will say the level of opposition in that league is Slobodan Tedic.

Wow, hats off to you, if you asked me I wouldn't have been able to recall that happening.

I’ve said it earlier in the thread but it seems people are discounting the possibility we’ll sell Lloyd.
Why on earth would we sell him? What possible reason could there be that we'd sell our best player?
Just something I’d heard was a possibility and something he’s apparently open too. Fingers crossed the defensive moves are just to support him rather than replace him.
    Where did you hear this?
Just someone I know and I know I’m far from the only person on here who’s heard the same. Like I say I hope it’s off the mark.
So multiple people heard from the same source that Jones wants to leave and we might be selling him?

What's the source you all heard that from?
    Load of tosh

If Jones goes then it should be Nathan, not Lloyd.

He isn’t really a hugely sellable asset due to age, relative lack of experience at this level and injury record. We’d probably get less for him than Brighton offered us for Mbick. He is incredibly valuable to us but not as valuable to other teams
At last, a bit of common sense, no rumours and so the usual culprits decide to invent bollocks.
    Usual culprits???
    Alright then 'various culprits'
No need to squabble over the exact wording. Let's compromise with "various usual culprits."

I can see Lloyd going in the summer but selling your fan favorite vice captain at the very end of the january window in the midst of a relegation battle would be madness. My theory is his injury is a bit more serious than anticipated and they need to manage him carefully. I don’t think he’d go in this window either unless it was a very lucrative offer. He’s put his body on the line for this club several times.

I don't think Lloyd will play for us for in Feb, mainly as he's injured and not about to be sold

Only if he picks all of them at once to start. I'm sure Karoy can play sweeper keeper too.

If NEW is a good player that can also play at LCB then I think so

If he’s not then you are pretty much just praying for Bell to stay fit

I can’t see Lloyd going anywhere personally. Clubs will be interested in the availability of good players - Charlton should be telling them to do one.

Will wait for a substantiated link before I worry.

Just trying to figure how this all works with squad limits and exemption players. Home-grown we're totally fine on that side of things with a minimum of 8 in a squad of 25. Colins would be one of our 4 allowed GBE exemption players if signed

If Apter or Jones goes ( I don’t believe for one minute the latter will happen) then Nathan might as well get in the Taxi with them because fans won’t tolerate that for a second.

It normally is the manager that walks, but this is Charlton Athletic.

A 22yr old Kenyan CB from the Serbian league for £1.5m ish feels way too random to not be legit.
Maybe, but there's been a few links to random foreign players in the last year and they've never come to anything (other than Dixon).
Well if DIXON is the answer to Charltons problems we are up the creek without a paddle. Dixon is not going to make it at Charlton regardless.

If L. Jones DOES go Nathan probably wouldn't be far behind if only because as much of a nutter as he can be I can't fathom him willingly signing off on that in the current situation. It would be a very bad sign for more than just footballing reasons IMO.

Obviously Dixon isn't the answer. I was just saying he's the only player we've signed from abroad, despite being linked with a few in recent windows.

I've had a quick look and we have all 25 registration spots currently allocated.

That reduces down to 24 if Edwards is de-registered.

Means we will need to move on players to bring in anyone else, even loans (Chambers is u21 but still takes up a space as on loan).

    2 Will Mannion GK
    3 Ashley M- Brewer GK
