That’s a pretty disappointing figure given how few seats are currently shown as available
I thought that was a cracking figure - assuming it doesn't inc the Chelsea 3k - fully expect a sell out now

Nothing ever straight forward with Charlton. Was going to get 2 adult tickets at 2pm and then go to the ticket office tomorrow to change my son's ticket to a student ticket (as advised by the ticket office over the phone this morning).
    Can't do that now.

They obviously haven't told the computer system that the timings have changed. There's currently a queue for the ticket sales that were due to start at 2pm!

Assume that those with 100 loyalty points will be allowed to access the match tickets but will only see those seats in the AC and West Stands that are currently available.

Bit confused - i bought 2 Tickets in phase 2, and now I it is saying I am not allowed to get any more, even though I have 100 loyalty points

You don't get a new allowance at each phase.

Season ticket seats now held until 9am Monday. Nearly 15,000 sold so far

Well I have to admit I’m pleasantly surprised it’s sold that many so quickly.

The uniqueness of the kickoff time and transport challenges had the potential to dissuade but it appears not.

I decided to hold off for now. Plenty of seats in Blocks A & B of the AC stand but I'd prefer not fo be near the away support.

Blocks F,G & H in the same stand are almost completely "sold out" according to the online system but I reckon there are loads (probably in the hundreds) that are ST seats held back. I might buy over the weekend or take a punt that on Monday afternoon loads will come back online.

Never simple supporting this club is it.

So once you have your two tickets that's your lot, regardless of availability?   Surely not.

Unless they remove the restrictions 2 is your limit.
Once unsold season tickets seats are put back on sale they will probably remove the restriction for anybody on the database.

Everybody is accessing the same ticketing system yet some are finding it easy and some are finding it difficult. That would perhaps indicate a user issue rather than a system issue. Either that or interpreting the instructions is leading to confusion.
    I think that

    1.  People aren't accessing the TICKET part of the site or at least not registering/login in to it.

    2. The site isn't always intuitive. It sometimes tells you whats wrong without making it obvious how to resolve it.

If you've used it before you can work it out but it's not always obvious.

I'm in my 60s, OK but not brilliant with IT and have little or no patience with websites. I got my tickets without a problem but I get why others are struggling.

Yes, it is user error but websites should take that into account and be obvious to use.
    Good post.

I think that the problem with many apps and websites is that they are designed by the under 30s who have a certain way of thinking how things should be set out.

They should do like a good board game rulebook does before going to print. They get groups of people to play, give them the rule book and observe (without helping) to see how they interpret it. Then they iron out any misunderstandings before printing it.

Charlton could simply invite some fans who aren’t tech savvy to come to the club and test it as a pre-phase 1 stage.

Having been told over the telephone to purchase 2 adult tickets and then take a copy of my son's student id to the ticket office today to convert one ticket to a student ticket, I was told that they were unable to sort it today and that I would have to email them about it.
    They really are f???ing useless.

Mate had an absolute nightmare the other day getting pre general sale tickets for him and his son. Hours on hold, even travelled to the ground whilst on hold, to be told they won't sell tickets at the counter. Then trouble linking their fan numbers even though he's always paid for both ST's and their fan numbers are under the same account. I had grief simply renewing my ST this year and ended up with a new fan number and account in the end.
I suspect the system is not fit for purpose rather than staff incompetence.

I logged on and got my ticket with no fuss. And I’m old and useless with computers.
    So sometimes the system works.
Although I used to enjoy queuing at the portacabin ticket office in the early days of coming back to the Valley. Great chat and banter in the queue.

Is the museum going to be open before the Chelsea game? Or does the late KO mean No?

I also doubt there will be a sale to the 'general public'. Chelsea will sell out the away end, so Charlton needs to take steps to prevent them buying tickets in the home end. I suspect that anybody without an account created before X date will be unable to buy a ticket.
  • They will probably take the downtime to sort out all/any remaining ST holder who bought tickets elsewhere when they couldn’t figure out how to buy their own my guess is there probably won’t be many of them so then it comes down to how quick the comms team are in putting out the message that the tickets are now back on sale. As long as they’ve don’t have to count how many have already been sold that should be pretty quick I would have thought

15k out of 24k home tickets sold 3 weeks ahead of the game isn't really that disappointing.
